I'm a 62-yr old recreational walker with a wide foot and have never spent more than $70 on a pair of sneakers, mostly because I don't want to spend the $ on a part-time exercise. Altra grabbed my attention with its unique toebox design so I decided to try them. So glad I did. Literally from the moment I put them on (sockless, around the house) I felt my toes and upper foot spread out. There's a thinner sole cushion than with other sneakers but somehow these are more comfortable. Next, I put on a pair of thin ankle socks and went for a mile walk. Felt so natural, my feet truly felt unencumbered. The shoes are lightweight but support a natural footfall. I found my forever walking shoe. Now if only Altra made casual/office shoes!!

These hiking shoes are more comfortable than all of my casual sneakers. I have a wide foot and it’s a nice adjustment to have my big toe and pinky toe get breathing room on the side for once. Definitely worth it if you like the look. I’m normally a 10, but sized up to a 10.5 based on other reviews for this brand. I wouldn’t trade them to size down. This feels pretty much perfect. A 10 might be slightly short.

I bought these shoes because I was going to hike in Oregon for my spring break. I have Altra shoes for working out so I figured I would see what kind of trail running/hiking shoes they had since I knew they were good for my foot type. I just got back from my trip and these shoes were GREAT! The first time I wore them they didn't tear up my ankle/heel like new shoes usually do. When I wore them hiking we were hiking in snow. They had good traction and they got a little wet but my socks never felt wet. They have some mesh covered slits at the front which I think helped keep my feet from getting too hot and sweaty and kept them dry. I never leave Amazon reviews but the whole time I was hiking I was like "Oh my gosh these are amazing I'm so glad I got these". They are light, comfortable and gave my toes space but were tight enough around my heel/bridge. They also fit my insoles well. I'm not usually an outdoors person but I guess I have a good reason now since I have these shoes!

I had difficulty sliding them on my feet at first and thought I made a bad selection. Also disappointed the color says red but they're very orange! I left them in the box trying to decide if I was going to return them. Three weeks later... I work occasionally as a nurse and was scheduled this week and decided to wear them. They're actually very comfortable especially in the toe area. Feels like I'm walking on clouds. I got so many compliments at work. I may buy another pair, but the coloring seems deceptive.

Wrong item was sent initially, the sticker on the box is incorrect and mislabeled. I’ve ordered them again and hoping to get it right this go around. I have theses shoes in another color and I love them for trails. Just received the correct ones and I LOVE THEM! The color isn't the red orange shown, IMO it's more of a dusty orange/coral. But I love them. Great shoes for the price for sure...I may get the olive and blue to keep on standby. I am usually a 10 but sized a half size up for the uphill/downhill comfort and they're perfect. I didn't realize how beat my old ones are until I put theses on and felt the cushion <SIGH>. The toe box is wide and fits my shape foot well.

I got these shoes after watching reviews on YouTube. I took them out on a hike today and they are definitely amazing shoes. As slippery and muddy as it was I only slipped once (my own fault). My feet are only moderately sore (again my own fault being out of shape). They have just enough cushion not to much but enough to be comfortable walking on rocks and tree roots etc. I typically wear a 9.5 wide. I ordered a 10. The length is great, I would have been better with a wide (didn’t want to wait extra time and not have them for this hike today). I plan on ordering more of these and will order a wide in the future but these are still comfortable and useable. Even on a rugged hike they did very well, Even covered in mud and walking through some water (not super deep) my feet were pretty dry. Over all happy with my purchase!!!!

This sneaker is the lightest, most comfortable running/exercise shoe I've ever owned. I have a narrow foot but a wider toe box. The sneaker's shape allows your foot's natural shape to settle into it. You can spread and wiggle your toes, and when running in them, they don't feel loose. They're very lightweight which reduces post-workout fatigue. I also appreciate that they come in bright colors; purchased the aqua blue/orange. The size is true-to-fit.

I have wide feet. And I have been dealing with severe plantar fasciitis for the past two years. Although these shoes do seem to have a slight arch support, I used a pair of my own supports and it has been spectacular ever since. I bought them mostly because I was looking for something to hike in. I bought them because they are incredibly lightweight and they have a wide toe box. I can spread my toes out in them! I feel like I’m wearing a pair of slippers actually but I have the arch support I need. Even though they are lightweight, they are very well made with tough materials. I would buy these again, definitely!
