  • Easy and effective
Ya'll I have an area of my yard always in the shade and always wet. I used a hand tiller (also a terrific tool) to initially break up the dirt/mud (photo 1) and this tool easily broke up the mud and dirt chunks the tiller left leaving me with a smooth level surface. I spread the grass seeds and used this again to turn the soil and cover the seeds (photo 2 all done). A job that normally would've taken me 3-4 hrs minimum with a hoe or shovel and a rake, took less than two hours thanks to this tool along with a hand tiller. One important tip: when assembling, you have to insert the the blade bracket into the handle, no biggie, but take a minute to make sure the screw you tighten to hold the blade in place gets seated into the hole in the bracket. If it's not, the blades will continue to fall out. It's easy and just takes a second to line them up and then tighten with pliers or whatever. This simple step will make all the difference when using this tool. I also love the sound it makes coz it sounds like spurs jingling and I'm from Oklahoma so love that sound! ... show more

  • Eh, it's ok
It's good enough for what I needed it for. The problem I had was when you screwed it together it didn't get tight and it would fall apart while tilling. So, I welded it. I summed it up to the threads not being big enough for it to grab and make tight. The handle comes in 3 pieces that need to be screwed together. So, 2 of them got tight, 1 did not. If you don't mind drilling a hole to put a bolt or metal screw in or welding it then the hand tiller isn't all that bad it works and it's cheap. If you don't want to mess with it, I'd buy another one. Keep in mind the next step up is twice the price. If you don't have a welder but a 1/4 inch drill bit and a 1/4 bolt with nut, probably be 6 bucks instead of an additional 40 or 50. I'll still give it a 4 just because it works well once you get done messing with it. ... show more

  • Cheap
Shipped quickly. I should have done my homework before buying this. Looks great until you actually use it. Cheaply made in China. My advise is pass on buying this.

  • Light duty, flimsy
This item doesn’t have weight or ability to break up hard soil as found in dead lawn spots, so it’s only good for mixing soil you’ve top dressed or tilled yourself. Is better at this mixing than a rake, however. And it does take a lot of down-pressure on tool to get it to mix decently. Which brings up the handle: it’s miserable—four pieces kept together by friction (barely). Tool end is sturdy though so I’ll replace with broomstick. Since I probably won’t use often, it should work out for lawn seeding, but is not built for frequent use. ... show more

  • I Like the Concept - But the Product is Cheaply Made
First off, I like this concept - having a light-duty tiller that won't strain my back while working large areas of our garden. A handheld tiller for flower boxes, and a pair of gloves, were also nice additions. The kit was also easy to assemble. But this set appears to be very cheaply made. One section of the tiller handle had stamped-in threads that were too shallow, and would not tighten correctly - it felt like the threads were stripped. It also pulled apart too easily after being tightened. Also, one of the plastic trim collars between the handle sections did not fit correctly. This would render the tool useless, and possibly dangerous, as the handle would likely come apart under normal use. I will be returning this item, and looking for a suitable replacement of better quality. ... show more

  • Very easy to use
My husband and I are a weird gardening duo. I am a wheelchair user so I usually sit beside the garden bed to work, but my husband has a bad back so he tries to do as much as he can while standing. These have come in very handy. There's a long, standing version and a little hand tool. We don't use a big tiller in our raised beds, but this is an excellent alternative. It even works great on something like potatoes where you really want to break up the soil well and aerate. It's so much easier to plant and mount up the soil now. They are very sturdy and seem durable. ... show more

My back yard needs this product. I use dug out the old turf with a hoe, and then used this rotary cultivator to cultivate the soil below to make it very soft for sowing. This tiller is easy to install, light to use, and very fast. After ploughing, the land in my back garden is still very easy to use. It seems that the quality should be It's also very good. It should be very good to buy such a product at this price. It should also be retained until next year's cultivation. It's a very good product. ... show more
