  • Crashed going 80+, not a scratch on my hands
I must say, these were a little stiff when I first got them, but boy am I glad I did. After a few weeks of riding they broke in very comfortably. Yesterday, I crashed going around 80 Mph, avoiding rear ending a few vehicles that had just rear ended each other. I was thrown across the highway sliding for about what I estimate to be around 30-50 feet. I was extremely lucky not to be injured other than road rash on my left arm and both knees. These gloves MAJORLY saved my a**, they absorbed 100 percent of the slide and I do not have so much as even a scratch on either of my hands. I literally have never written a review before either, however on the ride back after my wreck I thought I should share my feedback as I am eternally grateful that these performed how they did. Definitely will be re-purchasing when I fix my bike, if I wasn't wearing these I highly doubt I would be able to type. Please ride safe and learn from my mistakes. Don't run yellow lights, don't speed around other drivers, and most of all WEAR GOOD GEAR. ... show more

  • LEGIT motorcycle gloves
Size: Large Color: Black/White
I own 2 pairs of the Alpinestars S8 gauntlet gloves. I appreciate that majority of Alpinestars gloves are touchscreen friendly. Even if you have the glass screen protector, unlike other brands. The fit is good and the quality is what you would expect from a name brand company. But how do you really know the quality of the item if you’ve never really tested it. Can you confidently say that it’ll hold up and do its job when needed? For me I found out the hard way but it reinforced what my buddy said and what I believe, that you get what you pay for and when it comes to safety, it’s not something you want to be cheap on. At approximately 50 mph (most likely faster) I went down and I had almost no control where my hands were because my hand was caught in between the handlebar and the road (raised part like a sidewalk). So I slid for a while, and I was lucky that the gloves held up like they were designed to, on both the knuckles and the palm. I had absolutely no damage to my hands and from the damage the knuckles took, it would’ve been a bad day if I wasn’t wearing gloves or if I had some cheapo pairs that didn’t offer good protection. I would definitely recommend any Alpinestars product but I definitely stand behind these. ... show more

  • ZERO PALM PROTECTION
Size: 3X-Large Color: Black/Grey
👎👎Was excited to get my new pair of quality Alpinestar gloves... Or so I thought... What a let down. First impression was wow they are kinda small. Second was when I put them on, they felt ok... a little cheap, but then I looked at the palm of the hand, WHAT??FOAM PADDING !!??! No hard slider, no patch of leather. Nope. Just FOAM. No good. ... Put them straight back in the box and haven't looked back. Seriously, if you slid with your palm down, say going 80 mph, the glove will have no choice but to disintegrate. And you will slide for alot farther than 30-50 feet if you get off at 80mph. Might help if you crash going 20-30 mph. More speed than that and you have more to worry about!!! It's literally 1/4" of raised foam material. No slide protection. What a joke. These offer maybe 40% protection. As for my hands, they will keep shopping... check out Cortechs apex gloves. The sp-8 V2 just falls extremely short in the protection department. 🙁 ... show more

  • Just what I was looking for in street gloves.
Size: Large Color: Black/White
These gloves are comfortable and easy to flex. My last pair were SP-1's (If I remember correctly) and I hated those gloves. The seams in the tips of the fingers would push the tips of your fingers so after riding for hours it would become a nussance. Additionally those gloves started splitting at the seams after only a couple of years and the velcro around the wrists stopped doing anything after about 4-5 years. Fast forward to these SP-8 V2 gloves, and immediately these gloves feel of higher quality. There isn't a seam in the finger tips, the quality appears much higher, and the fit is nice. Time will tell how well these gloves stand-up, but so far so good. ... show more

  • Poser Gloves only, not safe for actual riding.
Size: 3X-Large Color: Black/White/Red
Arrived quickly but the Alpinestars SP-8 v2 gloves were hugely disappointing. Yea, "double velcro closure" at the wrist. Both velcro closures are on the top of the glove with GIANT open "V" cut in on the underside of the wrist all the way to the palm! Yep, WIDE OPEN! Are you kidding, Alpinestar?!? With the velcro closed all the way, you can easily slip these gloves off with no effort. I buy motorcycle gloves to protect my hands in an accident. To do that a glove needs to stay on the hand. Great for posing for photos but not safe for actual riding. ... show more

  • May be counterfeit
Size: X-Large Color: Black/White
I used to have these gloves in L from RevZilla a few years back but had to sell them due to them pinching and squeezing my hands a lot to the point that my hands felt numb, so here I bought XL and while they feel better on my hands I can tell the quality is not the same. The leather feels a little bit thinner and overall it's just not the same as they ones I had before. From the outside they look the same but once I put my hands in them, I feel like I'm wearing much much cheaper gloves. Hopefully I don't ever have to test them. As for the price, here I paid almost twice less than what I paid previously, so it may very well be either a counterfeit or simply Alpinestars decided to switch to a much more cheaper material, which explains the price. I still recommend them though. ... show more

  • Quality but a little snug.
Size: X-Large Color: Black/Grey
These gloves were great for the most part. They were confidence inspiring on the track. However, I am usually somewhere between a large and X-large glove size. I ordered the X-large and could barely get them on my hand. Once they were on they were fairly comfortable but the fingers were a bit long. This didn't seem to be too much of a problem on the track but did cause a couple shift delays due to my fingers not clearing the clutch lever cleanly. I would definitely buy them again but would want to try them on first for sizing. ... show more
