This is a nice hardware controller for the Serato Studio software. The Studio software comes with the hardware purchase as long as the controller is plugged in. I don't have much to say about the software, other than it's easy to learn and is probably the most efficient and quickest as far as sampling goes, hardware or software. I primarily got it to use with the Serato Sample VST opened in inside of FL Studio and it works EXCELLENT that way. Most of the hardware buttons and functions are linked and functional, minus one or two features that Sample doesn't have vs the full fledged Serato DAW. Most midi controllers can accomplish what this one can, as well, except for one that I can think of and it's a big one. I don't always chop on beat and use scrub functions of various samplers to find find my chops allot of the time and that is baked into this controller. It was the last feature that kept me holding onto my MPC's. GAME OVER and goodbye MPC Live 3. Serato is just far more accurate in regards to key and bpm detection. Stem separation is light-years ahead of MPC and FL. Key scale change is instant and key and bpm are both one page, not to mention I have all the processing power and memory I could ever possibly need in my desktop. With the SLAB controller and the cheapest laptop you can find you would already be ahead and running circles around any and ever hardware sampler on the market. ... show more

The customer service is nonexistent They do not return email and I cant get the pads to trigger sound and yes I know music gear so I'm returning this

Great piece for beginners that use Serato Studio. I'm more of an advance producer. I have other midi controllers that can do the exact same thing, so I returned. Again this is cool for beginners only working in Serato Studio. If you are using other DAW's and have a midi controller, you'll understand what Im talking about. ... show more
