This is my second purchase of this jacket. Last winter I gave my first one to a friend because they needed a coat and for some reason I got north face instead. It was one of their top-of-the-line parkas, 550 fill blah blah blah. It SUCKED compared to the Alpha industries jacket. It’s weird to say this but I literally missed that jacket all winter. My new one got delivered today and it’s everything I remembered. SO comfortable and super warm. The hood is amazing. It's 30 degrees In Chicago today and I walked to the gym with just a T-shirt on and I was almost too warm. Fit: I'm 6'3", lift regularly, and the XL was perfect. Still maintained a slim fit shape, but definitely room to layer. Not too baggy at all. Large would be too tight for me I think. If you are tall and super skinny a large would probably be good. The ONLY gripe is the zipper sticks sometimes but it's heavy duty and won't fail. And maybe the wierd fake plastic bullets in the upper arm pocket are cringe but whatever. Either way best winter jacket I've owned. The first one I owned for three years, and it never looked ragged or dingey. I will have this one for many years to come

Great quality parka, sturdy, heavy and extremely warm. A bit larger than expected. Came wrapped with an Alpha Industries plastic bag and a plastic hanger. Every button and zipper with protective paper. Even the tags look good. About the size, here's the deal: I am exactly 6' (1.82m) and 194 (88kg), I bought size Large and it fits a little bit big, but it looks good and it allows total freedom of movement and layering. I do believe however that if you are about the same size as me, you can buy a Medium for a snug and fitted look, just as they show in the stock photos. The main zipper is a little bit of trouble in the upper part, but no deal breaker, it feels durable. About the length of the parka, it is exactly 32 inches (81cm) measured from the back from neck to tail. Posted some pictures for reference. Overall, a great product. I recommend it for extreme cold weather.

I never rate anything 5 starts out of the barn. I received this parka 3 days ago. Currently we are in the polar vortex bombcyclone whatever you call it cold front that the entire eastern seaboard of the USA is experiencing the 1st week of January 2018. I never owned a parka or snorkel coat before. My siblings did in the 1970's. Anyway I was looking at Patagonia, Arcteryx, Mammut, Kuhl, Canada Goose, Fjallraven and all the high tech fancy brands. I was ready to purchase one of these jackets that range from $500 - $1100 USD because it is that cold. I'm 5'10" 155lbs slim fit. I'm a 40r suit jacket, 35" shirt sleeve. I ordered the regular N3-B and the Slim. The regular did not fit well, it was too wide in the shoulders. This Slim Fit fits me perfectly. I can also wear a Patagonia down sweater jacket underneath if needed. its 10 Degrees F out right now and I am wearing a T shirt and fleece and am comfortable. Im not used to a fur hood so it kinda gets in the way. You can remove it, but the coat is warmer, and looks better with it on. I am the first reviewer of this coat from this supplier. The jacket came on time and as expected. Finding a black medium was a littler harder. You can save a little $ if you get a different color. However I did find it in Black on Amazon for a few dollars less, but I wont return the coat just to save the $10. As of now I would this again.

I am 173cm tall, typical Asian medium/slim build. This slim fit N3B in size XS is perfect for me. Sage/orange is definitely the most versatile colour for your N3B. I guess most people are interested in the measurements. Pit to pit is 55cm. N3B is a thick parka so the width is naturally wider than your ordinary t-shirts. Most of my t-shirts are 48-50cm pit to pit. The centre-back length is 78cm, excluding the hood of course. It is perfect for my height. I wouldn't recommend people shorter than 170cm to buy this parka, because it would probably be too long. Overall, the parka is very well-made (despite the fact that it is made in China) and should last for years. A classic parka that every man should have.

It's such a good coat. No issues whatsoever. I don't live in a really cold place (Vancouver) so I'm not sure if it's good for temperatures below -5, but I was never cold in it. The hood is quite deep, so if you zip up all the way, your face will be well covered.

I expect nothing but perfection from Alpha when it comes to parkas. I'm not disappointed. I'll note that this "slim version" of the N3B parka is a bit more snug than I'm used to. If you really want the jacket to do its best in the coldest of weather, you should probably stick with the "natural" N3B. Either that, or order a size larger than you're used to. This jacket fits my arms and snugly a bit more snug than I'm used to. It looks better as a result but I'm noticing it just doesn't perform as well in the coldest of weather. It makes sense because if the parka fits you tightly in any spot you're compressing the insulation and reducing its effectiveness. I don't blame them for the fit. I'm the reason I went for "form over function" this time. It's more than serviceable for the vast majority of continental US winters.
