So, I finally bought two riding jackets to replace the hoodies I used to wear while riding - this one for summer and a HWK long-style one for cooler weather. I tried a HWK mesh jacket in 2XL last year, and had to return it because it was way too small, given that I have a gut that just won't leave the premises... But, it was also not long enough at the waist for this 6'1" guy. Other reviews of this jacket seemed to suggest they have the same sizing problems as the HWKs do (sized for Asians, regardless of their claims to the contrary), so I got this in a 3XL, and it fits very well! I was skeptical of how well air would pass through this material, but it's really very good at that - I can even feel the wind on my back! Which I suppose makes sense, cuz if it can get through the front it's gotta go somewhere, eh? Not so great as far as pocket room or numbers of pockets, but if they had larger pockets that would block more air from flowing though it I guess. I can live with that. Comfortable neck, comfortable all around. My only criticism is that the Velcro cuffs are a bit lame, and to get them tight around my wrists there's a bit of flap overhang. But for the price you just can't beat this jacket. I got the day-glo yellow/green one for better visibility, and I think it looks pretty durn cool. 😎 PS: while it's not the subject of this review, I wanted to mention that I got that long-style HWK 3-season jacket in a 2XL because of other reviews saying they were more true to size than their short waist ones, and it does indeed also fit great, plus it covers about half my back pants pockets when standing, which is great for cooler weather. I love em both.

I can't believe this isn't more expensive. The quality is great, styling (subjective) is great, good reflectivity, nice fabric. It's what they call 'asian cordura" whatever that means. But I like the fabric. Wear the jacket everywhere for a week and it'll conform to your shape quickly enough and feel like a second skin. Pockets everywhere, perfect for phone inside, with good protection. You can remove the padding/protective inserts for added versatility if you don't need them. As it claims and expected it's not a warm jacket. It's not meant to be. It's breathable. For cold days I wear a lightweight wind jacket under. This then makes it very warm. For warm days it's great with just a T-shirt under. No idea about water resistance because it doesn't ever rain in California :)

Good price, looks good, and pretty comfortable, as well. No frayed seams, material is durable, and has reflective logos on arms, back, and chest. DOES have padding included, in back, shoulders, and elbows. (Some claim "motorcycle gear with pads" and have nothing.) The only real "negative", if that word is derserved, is that it has a mesh layer inside, which allows it to breathe, but lets a fair amount of wind through, so you might need another layer, depending on your geographical location and time of year. I have not yet tested it's real world waterproof capabilities, so I am uncertain of the jacket's capacity in that regard.

It came well packed and looked great right out of the box. I was impressed with the build quality. I have two other motorcycle jackets that I paid 3-4 times the price for and they are not much nicer then this one. I’m 6’0, 250 pound guy, with broad shoulders. I typically wear a size 48 suit jacket and have a 36-38 inch waist. I ordered the 3XL and it fits great. I still have some room to layer up underneath for those cooler mornings. I could have probably fit into a 2Xl if I wanted a snugger fit. It has plenty of adjustments with Velcro straps around the wrist, mid arm, and around the waist so you get it where you want. This jacket provides a lot of airflow especially when moving or when there is a nice breeze when sitting still. I think it’s ideal for temps between 60-85. As far as the “Armor” goes, it really is more like padding with what feels like a thin piece of plastic over it. That being said it would provide plenty of cushion if you were to fall and keep you a lot safer then not having anything at all. I would not wear this jacket in the rain as it was not intended for that. If you are on the fence about buying one, it’s a good gamble for the money.

This jacket was exactly what I was looking for. Living in Las Vegas I needed a light, yet durable jacket for hot days. The Alpha jacket fits the bill perfectly. Additionally, the fit is perfect, the design is awesome. The embossed logo is iridescent when struck by light. Low profile, high visibility combined with durable mesh and light padded armor makes this the perfect desert riding jacket for me. Best part, it was one of the cheapest available at the time of purchase.

This thing is very cool when youre riding. I washed it as instructed and everything fits great. It feels very confortable. I am very happy about how much air actually flows into the jacket when riding. In the winter its actually too fresh. Overall, It fits great, and is confortable. The price is a banger too!

First the bad, these jackets are not cut for fat guys like myself. I have a 46" chest, 44" waist and always wear 2XL. I ordered 2XL and couldn't even zip it. I returned it for a 4XL which fits pretty well. Definitely a slim cut jacket. The good is everything else. Looks great, armor is well placed, mesh panels provide good airflow and the quality appears very good. It's still warmer than I had hoped for but given the armor and abrasion resistant material, I can't imagine how a $60 jacket could be any cooler. Compares with HWK.
