These shelves are used in a small guest house where floor space is at a premium, but we need space for some books and photos. They're fairly straightforward as far as assembly, which is good since the instructions are pretty much no help. While one person can assemble the unit without much fuss, it is a good idea to have a second set of hands for mounting these to the wall. Once attached to the wall, these shelves look good and work very well for their intended purpose. NOTE: Remember that the strength of the shelves are only as good as your assembly and wall mounting. We would get these again if needed.

The materials of these shelves are a mix. The bars are made of metal, the shelves are made of engineer wood AKA particular board and to be able to attach the shelves to the bars have this thing that you screw it into the shelf and those are made from plastic. It is easy to assemble at some point, but you are going to need help when start putting the shelves in place because for some reason you drop it, GAME OVER, You can brake the plastic piece that attaches the shelves to the bars. it is heavy but not as much, you just really need someone to hold it when start leveling the shelves. I end it up with 4 shelves now :( because I did a solo job. The bars are sturdy metal and have plastic caps on both ends. The particle board has a nice black finish. But I am not a fan of the things that attach to the shelves. I mean they blend in, but bothers me that is a weaker material in comparison to the others. This is good for people that rent or live in a condo, better yet this is great for college students because you can take it apart again. because is lighter than a bookshelf. I really thought that since has an industrial look, it will be sturdy as well. It really is just the look. Which I don't think a professional designer will approve. Industrial looks are well known for heavy-duty, wear resistance, and durability, don't recall or ever see the plastic as an industrial design look. just my 2 cents. Overall is an a-ok piece. It comes with screws and a tool. And is super easy to assemble, but needs help to hold it. Its present price is $119.00 ...I also think they should lower the price because other bookshelves with the same design run for about one hundred dollars. I honestly think eighty dollars will be a more reasonable tag price.

This 5-tier shelf was pretty easy to put up with easy-to-understand instructions. We installed this shelf set in front of our living room window for plants. I love that the shelves are easily adjustable - just turn the knobs on the side and they will slide up and down. You do need a level however, there are no markings to indicate where the shelves should sit. There is an anti-tipping anchor of sorts. Unfortunately this did not reach far enough for us to attach to the wall above our window, so we compromised by attaching heavy duty wire to the anchor and the wire to the wall. I do wish there were a way to drill this into the ceiling or the floor for another anchoring method. The shelves do seem to be high quality and they are holding quite a few plants for us.

they're SUPER tall, so lots of flexibility there. But be aware of the minimum height to make sure it's not TOO tall for you.
