I use this chopper to mince garlic. I had an earlier version- it lasted over 6 years but eventually the blades got dull. This black chopper is better because it has the plastic cover that catches the garlic. It is easy to use and much faster than manually chopping garlic. I went to a restaurant and had the best hummus with super finely chopped veggies and wanted to recreate it. All the other choppers I had used had a larger cut but this one was perfect! It is definitely made for softer things like mini peppers and onions but is still sharp enough to cut through celery for chicken salad. They include a device to make it easy for cleaning but there were still times things got caught in the mesh area that is more challenging to clean.     • Best solution for chopping garlic !!!
I LOVE This little gadget!!! I have tried so many garlic devices over many years and now I have the best one . I accidentally discovered the ingenious little screen on the bottom of the plate where you put the garlic cloves. It was so integrated into the design that I did not realize it was a separate part. After spending a fair amount of time cleaning out the small bits that were stuck in the base of the device, and washing it, saw it sitting on the counter and wondered where it came from. Then, I figured it out . Now after processing all the garlic I just lift the screen and all the trapped pieces lift off and clean up is a breeze.     • Cheaply made and flimsy.
I have bought several of these in past, the white plastic version and the stainless steel version. I needed a second one and since the stainless steel version has quadrupled in price, I went the plastic route. This one is much flimsier than the old plastic one I had. The worst part is the piece you use to clean the grid. It is very flimsy and is hard to take off. I would be surprised if it lasts more than a few uses before breaking. If this is the way they will make the plastic version going forward, I would recommend waiting until the stainless steel version comes down to the $30 - $40 range again. ... show more

This is my 2nd chopper because my old one got so much use. I had it for years and it held up so well I passed it on to my daughter and bought a new one. This one appears just as great! Used several times already and can throw it in dishwasher!

Strainer for grid cannot be used in a dishwasher. The terminology indicated it is 100 per cent dishwasher safe.
