Allen Edmonds shoes are outstanding. Perfectly made, soft leather, great appearance. I'd recommend these shoes to anyone. But, ordering from them online isn't great because it takes awhile to get the credit, If you get the wrong size. Basically, the sizing isn't always so intuitive. Some of the different models have different sizing both from a width standpoint and from a length standpoint. Not big differences but, at this price point I want the shoes to fit perfectly. So, I ordered a pair, then returned it. Then I would order another pair. Took about two or three times to find the right size. But, that process takes a lot longer than it should. It takes a lot longer than it does with other shoes. For example, when you market returned , the website says that they'll process your return back to your credit card once you return the shoes to the UPS return site. But, that's not how it works. Once you return it to the UPS return site. You then have to wait for UPS to return it to Allen Edmonds. Process adds about 7 more days. Not a huge inconvenience but, it adds up. Because, once you order it and pay the money you have to wait a couple days for it to be delivered. Then, if it's the wrong size you Don't have to. Just wait to the point that you return it. (And that return is confirmed) But, You have to wait until The UPS shop returns it to Allen Edmonds. And, Allen Edmonds has a chance to process that return. Again, none of it is a huge inconvenience, but, given the price I don't want to lock up that much money on my credit card while I wait to find the right shoe. And none of it should take away from the fact that his shoes are the best dress shoes there are. I will definitely continue to be on Edmonds customer, you just wish the buying process were a little smoother

Have owned 5 pairs of AEs over the years. This one looks and feels as nice as the others, but the left shoe started squeaking the second time I wore it and continues to squeak with every step. I don't know the cause nor whether it's fixable, and it's very frustrating. I'm giving 2 stars because to me the shoe is worthless untill/unless I can resolve the squeek.

I bought a pair of these shoes during Allen Edmonds' spring sale after doing an Amazon Prime Wardrobe try-on. I gradually broke them in over a month and started to wear them for extended periods of time. On a Sunday morning while standing in the line for communion at church, I started hearing a creaking sound coming from my right foot and it was my shoe every time I took a step. It eventually stopped but would continue off and on while I was out in public or at home. I sent the shoes back to Allen Edmonds and they told me I'll probably have to continue wearing them and it'll stop, but this is the first time I've ever had a problem with any Allen Edmonds shoe as a customer. This used to be one of the best brands of shoes when they were made in Wisconsin by skilled workers, but since it was purchased by a large corporation, the quality is going downhill and the classic styles are dying out. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

The Walnut color is beautiful, the shoes are well made and several strangers commented on them the first time I wore them out. VERY pleased with these. I wear a 12 or a 12.5 depending on the manufacturer and a size 12 fits perfectly. I usually go with Cole Haan dress shoes, but these are noticeably more comfortable. The shoebox that it comes in is legit too
