The instructions were not as clear as I would have liked. As a result, we had pieces left over, but I think the arbor looks great despite that, and our grapes seem to love it. I mounted solar LED Japanese lanterns on it as you can see from the picture.

It took 2 hours to put together by myself (40f). It's gorgeous but was quite a task, as only about half the holes were predrilled. I recommend a power screw driver, a socket wrench, rubber mallet, measuring tape, square with measurements, a pencil, and a drill. There are no anchors so my next task is to pour some concrete footers, move the arbor to its final location, and anchor it in place over my walkway. Assemble in place if you don't have a 2nd set of hands to help move the assembled arbor, as it's quite bulky once put together. It's very solid and I have no concerns about it lasting a few decades. ... show more

Went together easy. Quality construction. Stained it right away with some clear satin. Really brought out the cedar color and should prevent it from turning grey. Highly recommend.

    • Sturdy and smells great!
The media could not be loaded. Built this to brighten up our hurricane (Ian) ravaged yard. We replaced all of the hardware with stainless steel because we are right on the water. We also added a cedar tinted water seal. Stabilizing it was a brain drain, but we finally ended up attaching four 3 foot metal rods (via Amazon) to the base and pounded them in before screwing them to the legs. Attached some bougainvillea to the lattice work and voila! Very happy with the results. We'll see how it weathers the next storm... ... show more

My fiancee and I got this arbor for our outdoor, COVID-friendly wedding as a backdrop. The day before, my father-in-law and brother-in-law took it outside and started the assembly process. Overall, it wasn't super difficult to put together. The directions weren't too detailed, but there wasn't all that much that they would need to say. The two sources of difficulty we experienced had to do with the pre-drilled holes. First, I should say that for the majority of the connections, there were no pre-drilled holes. There were only two pieces of wood that you're supposed to drill free-handed into each other. Thanks to the meticulous use of a carpenter's square, we got it looking pretty good, but this could easily have been a disaster in the hands of anybody less persnickety. A little help here would have been nice. The other problem, and I dare say this one is a bit more pressing, is that where there were pre-drilled holes they seemed to be misaligned. In particular, the holes for the bolts connecting the top section with the two sides were off by about 1/4 inch in either direction, so we had to get in there with a drill bit and remove material until they could line up and a bolt could be passed through. Not cool, guys! Anyway, it wasn't too difficult otherwise, and the thing does look nice and seem sturdy now that it's assembled. However, I was disappointed by the shoddy workmanship and poor planning. Would it kill you to just line up your drill a bit better? ... show more

Exactly as expected. Sized perfectly for the space. Arrived in many separate pieces, all predrilled with easy-to-understand instructions. Definitely couldn't have put it together without a power screwdriver and some help. Mostly one person job but some steps require two people. Came with zinc hardware instead of galvanized. ... show more

Even though some of the screws were missing, the supplier sent them immediately. The unit was a great retirement project for my husband. He constructed most of it in the Winter and then finished it in the Spring for the time of installing in the flower garden. We cemented stakes to hold it in place against the wind. It's absolutely gorgeous, with a sturdy bearing. It's really cedar!!! ... show more
