Beautiful, long assembly, stain first
Size: 8-Ft Garden Arbor
Beautiful arch used for a wedding. Bought the 8ft and it was the perfect size. Assembly is slow as the holes are not predrilled for any of the smaller slats but initially can be started with one person. I had to space them all out with a measuring tape and make sure everything was parallel/perpendicular before screwing them in place. The sides and top took maybe 1.5-2 hours. Final assembly requires 2 people as it is heavy and quite tall. We assembled it on its side and then attempted to stand it up- be careful because the legs will wobble without the final bracing pieces up top and the wood can crack where the bolts are. Once the braces are installed its very sturdy. **recommend to stain before assembling** otherwise its back breaking work leaning over the slats and also once assembled its hard to stain in all the different corners where the boards meet and it can get runny/drippy.

I hope you have tools
Size: 6-Ft Garden Arbor
It took 2 hours to put together by myself (40f). It's gorgeous but was quite a task, as only about half the holes were predrilled. I recommend a power screw driver, a socket wrench, rubber mallet, measuring tape, square with measurements, a pencil, and a drill. There are no anchors so my next task is to pour some concrete footers, move the arbor to its final location, and anchor it in place over my walkway. Assemble in place if you don't have a 2nd set of hands to help move the assembled arbor, as it's quite bulky once put together. It's very solid and I have no concerns about it lasting a few decades.

Sturdy and Attractive!
Size: 6-Ft Garden Arbor
I’m a 50 year old woman who stained and assembled this on my own You will need assistance when you assemble the top with the sides, but otherwise it is straight forward. I took the recommendations from the other reviews and stained each piece separately with two coats. The directions that are included aren’t great, so keep a picture handy for reference. One previous reviewer mentioned that not all holes are pre-drilled. I’m not sure why his comment didn’t make me think this would be an issue, but it is a pain. My math skills are horrid, so thanks to Siri for doing it for me! The issue isn’t so much as problems with the simple math, but the need to ensure it is a symmetrical and level as possible, and pre-drilled holes would have accomplished that and made the assembly process quicker. Once I assembled this, I retouched up the stain as the assembly process wasn’t always an easy fit. I used an 18 inch screw anchor system {this I did not do on my own) to secure it in place. Overall I am happy with this purchase, but would recommend the company do all pre-drilled holes, because at times it felt like a labor of love versus what I thought I was getting myself into. Items you will need: drill, measuring tape, stain or paint (make sure it has a sealer component) small rollers, plastic gloves (some parts are small so it makes it easier without coating your hands), touch up brush, pencil, a large and small level, Phillips head screwdriver, ratchet for bolts at top); math/measuring skills, and patience.

Easy assembly and easy to stain
Size: 6-Ft Garden Arbor
Using pre-drilled pieces made assembly quick and easy. Stained and sealed all pieces before assembly to mitigate weathering. Good value. Very sturdy. Did use ground anchors to counter winds.

It comes raw wood and requires sanding
Size: 6-Ft Garden Arbor
I don't write many reviews, but in this case, for the price point, I thought it only right to let others know what they are getting. What I like: The wood is a simple mix of 2x2s, 2x3s, 2x4s and 2 arch pieces that look like they were shaped from 2-2x6s. The pieces are flat and straight, so it's good quality raw lumber. There are some split ends and some dents/dings...but that is to be expected. If you want absolute perfection, this is not the product for you. I find the imperfections accepatble from a materials standpoint, and like the rusticness of it. What I don't like: For the price point of this product, I was a bit disappointed that the pieces were not pre-sanded to a point I could simply just start assembling. I'm handy and have the right finishing sanders and know how for the job, but again, for the price of the product and the time it took to sand all the pieces before assembly, I was disappointed. I could have gone to a good lumberyard and got the same quality and cut the pieces myself for less than half the cost and just a little more time. Summary: I don't have it put together yet (still putting 15 yr Solid Color Waterproofiing Stain and Sealer on it (which holds up fantastic to the heavy UV we get with the yard being south facing), but the parts are solid with predrilled holes and decent instructions. Not sure I would buy this again for the $ and effort. There are lots of free plans that are available and for the same price could have built 2. But, for those of you that are looking for a decent quality kit, this is one of the best you will find.
