    • VERY high quality TV at a fantastic price!

I wasn’t seriously considering buying a new TV, but it just so happened that the Insignia TV I previously had in my bedroom unexpectedly stopped working after 10 long years of daily and nightly use. How fortunate I was to find this one on sale! As was the case with my old Insignia TV, the picture is exceptionally clear and sharp! It has multiple presets for picture and sound settings (both of which can be adjusted to your liking), and has excellent surround sound speakers built in, with bass resonance that is noticeably better than the more expensive Samsung TV I bought last year for the living room. The initial set up was a breeze, and came with a quick set up guide written in both English and Spanish. However, I must mention one caveat: If you intend to use the TV with a cable or satellite receiver, you will have to hook that up to one of the multiple HDMI or AUX ports provided; the scan feature intended to connect to cable or satellite TV ONLY works if your TV is directly connected to a wall outlet. Other than that, it quickly found my wi-fi network, connected to it almost immediately after entering the password, and downloaded the necessary updates just as quickly. Also, it was fast and easy to download and set up my Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and HBOMax accounts on the TV, using my phone to scan the QR codes that came up on screen. The only (very minor) difficulty I had with the set up process was attaching the “feet” to the bottom of the TV. As a few others reviewers have mentioned, the screws provided are pretty small and kind of hard to get in the holes with just a screwdriver alone. So, I too had to use a drill to attach them, but they went on quickly and easily at that point. Best of all, the remote that comes with it has Alexa built in, so you can speak to change channels, open different apps or menus, and I can also control my cable box with it! I’m very glad I was fortunate enough to buy it at such a low price for a quality smart TV of its size! Given how long my old one lasted, I’m confident that this one will be just as durable, and last just as long. I had a smart TV that broke just past the warranty time. When I forgot that it was plugged into my laptop and moved the laptop, the smart TV tumbled forward and the screen broke. Since then, I had been using a compact tube TV with an analog to digital converter. I bought this 24 inch full HD smart TV for under $100. It is light weight, great for kitchen/dining area. The graphics are great, sound is ample and Live TV feature works better than expected. I have not connected it to wifi so using the rabbit ears from my tube TV, I am able to get clear free live TV. Interestingly, the channels that I get with this TV is different from the tube TV. Anyway, this is a budget TV that does not feel like a budget TV. Remote work wonderfully. ... show more

UPDATE 2/2024: We loved this TV so much, using it in our kitchen, that we purchased a 2nd one for travel. It's compact and easily fits in a small spare suitcase with some towels to protect it. For general viewing, the screen is smaller than the 28" 720HD we had, but, due to being sharper at 1080, we barely have noticed the smaller size and have no issues seeing the sharper image on this. Small text is one area where this TV over a lower 720 resolution will be noticeably easier to read. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We have owned other Insignia TVs including a 43" 4K Tv we use in a patio room that's served us well for over 5 years. We wanted to replace our 720 27 inch kitchen with something smaller to save space and still be able to see it clearly. This little 24 inch 1080 tv has a very clear, sharp and high quality 1080 picture. It's smaller screen size still blew away the more pixelated and larger screen size of the Samsung 27 inch 720 TV it replaced. Text and faces and general detail is much more clear and defined and we have not really noticed any negative factors of going to a screen about 3" less diagonally in size. All of the Fire apps works that we installed including, Netflix, MAX, Paramount+, Disney+, and STARZ. Also, we notice the CPU/processor in this TV is fast! Menu selection and app, input and settings selections are fast to access and move though what you are doing in the menus. Don't expect built-in speakers for any flatscreen TV to sound that good. This tv has downward firing speakers and a thicker base to it, allowing a slightly larger speaker. You can hear what you need to, but, for us, we've been using the -Polk Magnify Mini 2- sound system for our kitchen tv and this new TV works perfectly with it to give us full sound in a very compact system in our kitchen. Check out the Polk models, there are two, one with surround and one without, with both having a nice subwoofer that is included. We have the non-surround model and it works perfectly in our kitchen. These two Polk models are sold on Amazon too! If you want to hear very clear dialog, I strongly suggest checking out these Polks! For under $140, you get a small full def tv here that has a full, in-depth menu to tweak settings to your hearts content. When I purchased this TV at our local Best Buy, I wasn't aware it has a menu that's as complete as a much larger, higher end TV, but, yes, it has it all for the setup menu. 5 stars all around. If you need a compact, space savings TV, but, want one with a full HD (1080) capability, this is the one to seriously consider. There a VERY few full 1080 definition TVs in this size and although it's only a 24 inch screen, the difference between 720 and 1080 will be obvious no matter what any sales person will tell you. (Seeing is believing). If you want full quality sound for movies and other audio needing crisp dailog and full bass with a dedicated subwoofer, please do check out the Polk Mini 2 models at Amazon, you will not be disappointed! ... show more
