  • Even Vudu...
Size: 32 inches
My previous TV, a flat-screen gifted to me in 2011, already ready to go, died last week. All of my adult life I have made do with hand-me-down or used TVs/monitors. My dead TV was set up in my office so I could watch TV while working on the computer. I fed the TV with a laptop, via HDMI. I had previously poured a giant glass of ice-water on the laptop so the screen doesn't work very well, which made it perfect for feeding the TV. I have large VOD libraries on both Prime Video and Vudu, so when looking at the Smart TV options, access to Vudu is important to me. So I originally decided against this TV because it's an Amazon Fire TV, and my Fire Tablet, (that I use to watch TV/movies in bed), doesn't allow me to put Vudu on it. But when looking at all of the options, this one was the right size, and it does have HDMI inputs, so I could still feed it with my broken laptop, so it was the obvious choice, with the great sale price. I searched the apps and found that Vudu was an option. I also downloaded Peacock, Paramount+, Movies Anywhere, Tubi, Plex, Crackle, MSNBC, The CW, ABC, NBC, CBS, and YouTube. Signing into to each of them on my computer and using codes worked really well. So the only thing I had to actually type my password into using the remote was my Wifi. It all works great, and switching to the HDMI input is easy, if I ever want or need to do that. Like if I ever want to watch something I only have on DVD or Blu Ray. I will add Disney+, Hulu and Netflix when the WGA writer's strike is over and I resubscribe to them. I don't know if my previous TV was HD, but when I've visited my parents when they've played Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and other things in HD on their HD TV and it has all looked gross. The Battle of Helms Deep was a bunch of amorphous clay blobs, and the Death Star was a bunch of dudes in bad costumes hanging out. I don't know if that was the motion smoothing thing that Tom Cruise was mad about a few years back, Either way, I've seen none of that gross stuff. I've watch a little of the new Children of the Corn, several episodes of Stargate Atlantis, a little of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull and Jurassic Park, and it all looks good. If I look closely I can see what I'm guessing is filmgrain, but the picture is clear. I recently watched an episode of Snoops (1999) that was uploaded to YouTube from probably VHS. There's a brief scene that features Dick Miller. I posted a screenshot to Twitter, but anyone who looked at that pic has to more or less take my word for it that it is indeed Dick Miller. But on this TV I could make guesses about the shade of lipstick worn by Teyla Emmagan, if I knew anything about lipstick. This is all to let you know my level of knowledge so you can judge how my level of happiness would measure up to your level of happiness. My only other observation in the few hours I've had this, is that the TV stands are at the outer edges of the TV. My previous TV had a big center stand, when meant I could perch it fairly near the edge of the table next to my desk, at a 45 degree angle (ish). So with the stands at the edges, I've had to push the TV farther back, and put sturdy things under the stands to give the TV better purchase on the table. Which is to say, you really need enough table under the entire TV to support it. I saw a review that said their TV didn't come with the screws for the stands. Mine did. They were in a separate small bad, the same way the remote batteries were in a separate bag. So far the TV seems absolutely great. ... show more

  • Cute little app based TV.
Size: 24 inches
This little TV fits perfectly in the space intended. At $69 it's definitely affordable and gives me the ability to watch video while I am getting ready for work in the morning, without having to run back and forth between my bedroom and the large HD TV in the living room. The resolution is only 780p so *don't* expect hi-def imagery. You get what you pay for and in this case, what I paid for is exactly what I wanted. It's easy to set up and navigate with the Fire TV remote. No problems there at all. It has a sleep function and also is bluetooth enabled, so you can pair a keyboard so you don't have to use the remote to enter passwords for your apps. It does *not* have a night mode which is something I think would improve the value. I prefer to limit blue light when I am winding down for bed. One con I feel I should mention is the manufacturer did not provide instructions in English print. If you're not tech savy or have zero common sense, this might be a problem. I had no trouble navigating the set up. Overall a good buy for the price. ... show more

  • Great value
Size: 32 inches
I needed a quick bedroom replacement after my screen went out, and this was the cheapest I could find in a pinch, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. The built in fire stick saved me another $20+, really cant beat the price. I've had it a few weeks now and haven't noticed any issues. Paramount has been crashing daily but that might be an issue with paramount and not the actual tv, I'm not sure. Everything else has been great. Setup was so easy, all my stuff was there as soon as I logged into my amazon account so I didn't have to do any tedious setup. I love that you can adjust the backlighting too, I cant stand a bright tv, it gives me a headache, so it's awesome being able to turn that down without effecting the picture quality. ... show more

  • Great antenna tuner, basic starter quality but still a lot of bang for the buck
Size: 24 inches
I’ve been using this TV every day for the last several months and I really can’t believe how much use I get out of it versus what I paid for it (which was on its low-end cycle). There’s nothing high end about it, but given its cost, its picture quality is indeed fair. I bought it to add a third TV to my set-up of two others, one for the PC, one for regular TV and this one that I mainly use for YouTube. What I like: I like that that when I first got this TV, I hadn’t yet connected it to the internet or set it up on Amazon and with using only a cheap set of rabbit ear antennas, I was able to tune in a whole bunch of Antenna TV stations which means it has a really strong antenna tuner, far stronger than other brand names I own, like TCL, Toshiba, and Samsung. I like how it’s small and light and mounts up on a bracket easily. If you intend on using this for basic antenna TV this one would be a good choice. What I don’t like: Since I use it mainly for You Tube, I don’t like how the remote doesn’t have a dedicated You Tube button or that to get onto YT, that I have to go through an app menu or to get back into YT after power-off, use the ”recents” button located under the Netflix button on the remote. I don’t like how on start-up that I get hit with ads for amazon prime videos (something I haven’t figured out how to disable (but this form of adware is probably why the price is so low)). I kinda don’t like how it didn’t come with any screws for the feet (and I say “kinda” because mine went on a wall mount and I didn’t’ really need the feet). Besides all that, it’s still been a good buy for me that I continue to use and be pleased with daily. The picture is not incredible or “stunning” in any way and it’s just basic but if you're not expecting too much this might work for you too. I’d say it’s a good value for the money (especially when the price is in its low cycle) and I recommend it with at least 4 stars or better. ... show more
