This Kindle performs great compared to the old Kindles! They have really amped up their devices, and they really have kept them versatile, super fast, and modern. With the easy to use Android OS, there's really nothing you can't do on these things because you have every app available from the Google Play Store. They are no longer an eReader, but a complete tablet, now. The screen on these things is really outstanding, and images are so crystal clear that its hard to imagine one thats better. If you're considering purchasing a tablet for a kid, don't waste your money on some outrageously expensive tablet that wouldn't perform as well as this tablet would. As someone who has a Samsung tablet and a Kindle, the Kindle is just as good, if not better, than my Samsung. It is enough for any person who uses their tablet to surf, shop, game, and conference. It really is that good! These things are most certainly worth the money!

Bought this only to check it out. Speakers not as good as my oldest iPhone 7! And nothing comes close to my iPad Pro or iPhones 16 pro, 13, 12 or 8! If you don’t compare it to an Apple device - it is an excellent value especially on Prime Day ($66+tax). Stay with the Lock Screen ads 32GB version and buy a microSD - better value than buying the device with more memory. Vast improvement in speed and display when compared to my 2015 Fire 8 tablet (battery died in 2020). Silk browser works fine but don’t like how difficult it is to clear the cache (really an Android issue since FireOS is Android based). I turned Alexa off (uses battery, memory and processor) and I don’t like Alexa listening to all conversations! Oh, buy the microSD from Amazon but not through the Fire ads - the price for the microSD almost doubles if you buy it from the Fire ads! Overall, an excellent value for a tablet!

WHY have I waited so long to get a tablet??! This thing is so great, I'm absolutely over the moon. I spend so much time away from the Home PC and I've been trying to live with listening, watching, reading everything on a phone...DONT DO IT, FOLKS! I got this little gadget during the Prime Day sale and the price couldn't be beat. I nearly purchased the Max 11, (price was also great) but read the reviews and decided to go with this one, and I'm so happy I did! The HD screen is flawless. The colour/brightness is perfect. Perfect sensitivity when it comes to the touchscreen and is able to process requests quickly. The screen size is a godsend for anyone using a phone - I watched a movie last night and had no complaints whatsoever! I bought a MePadKey keyboard case to protect the screen while in transit and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I totally recommend getting the keyboard too as it transforms this perfect little tablet into a laptop, poof - just like that! Get some lint-free microfibre cloths to clean the screen occasionally and you're good to go! Ooh! I also spent an extra $15 bucks to remove the ad.....what a stress saver! Now my husband wishes he had done the same with his! (neeener-neener-neeener!)

I have purchased this tablet (in new condition) two times so far (and a third one in refurbished condition on way) So why I like this tablet? 1. Last year I purchased this tablet (with amazon magnetic cover) and my wife has been using it to watch her shows while cooking in the kitchen (doesnt mean I dont cook - I just dont watch, lol) She told it serves her entertainment purposes quite well. 2. I recently saw a colleague bring his iPad with bluetooth keyboard & pen and saw how he uses it as a mini PC. I liked the idea. At the same time I see this tab again go up on discount & I decided to buy all the three(tab, keyboard cover & pen) I am typing this review from this new setup 3. I am going to give the refurbished tab to my mom for her digital content watching when it arrives what I like & dislike so far? 1. The price to value is very high. The tablet is decent for its price segment & throw the keyboard cover, it has made a decent compute device(email, browse, banking etc) which is way better than the chromebook I have. I have sideloaded the google playstore & have access to millions of the apps which we use. Otherwise amazon's app store is stunted & not useful for making this a business device 2. The setup is small yet useful. Unlike iPad which is not only bulkier and heavier, my whole tab+keyboard+pen doesnt feel heavy at all. I like the display clarity even though its just 1080P 3. I dont like how amzon locks its default apps and also doesnt allow us to modify the launcher app. I am a heavy customizer & use Nova for making sure my phones/tablets look the way I want it to be. But amazon dont let me get there by default. The sad part is, their default launcher is crappy & built for showing the ad's. For someone who is fully into Amazon ecosystem, this device just works. From connecting to a saved WiFi network to logging into default account, amazon has made many things seamless. But for someone like me, who hates getting caged in the OS, I give four stars.
