Was not sure what to expect given the mixed reviews, so figured I would add one. Bought this for my boyfriend looking for something soft and warm enough to wear around the house and go outside on cool nights. The material is like a fleece on the outside, and fluffier on the inside. Does not feel cheap or thin, yet isn't too thick or heavy (I think this is depicted in most of the pictures, although I think the plaid pictures make it look thinner than it is). Very soft and cozy. It does have loops for the belt (despite another reviewer saying otherwise). Boyfriend is 6'2" 240# (wears an XL shirt). I ordered a size up for added length and sleeve length. The 1XL/2XL fits him perfectly... Sleeves are long enough and it sits just a few inches above his ankles. The measurements on the product description are accurate. I've washed it once since purchasing and it barely shed any material (the very small amount in my lint trap may have actually been from my own robe).     • Turns you into an instant teddy bear
Finally got the right robe from this company. They are wonderful about letting you return until you get the right fit. These robes are kind of unusual in their fit, for me at least. I'm just slightly under 5'10, 160 lbs, thin build with somewhat long arms. Tried a S/M, way too small, sleeves nowhere close to my hands, length several inches above ankle. Exchanged for L/XL: A bit roomier, the body fit was okay, but again sleeves & length were same size as S & too short to be acceptable. Exchanged for XXXL: Way too big. That's for a much bigger man. I was lost in there and almost had to call 911 to find my way out. Finally got it right with 1XL/2XL. Sleeves to knuckles, length touches feet, nearly hitting floor but not quite. Body fit & hood are a little too big (the L/XL was just right for me in those aspects), but these are made oversize, as you can tell by so many other reviewers' comments. Why did I keep trying with Del Rossi, rather than switching to some other brand? For one, I love the plaid colors. The first 3 were Blue on White Plaid, which is very attractive, believe me, but there's too much white in it and the slightest stain or dirt will show. I don't want to wash this robe often so that was out. I then went with what they call Blue and Green Plaid. This looks good in the photos, but not in person. The squares are black, not blue, and it's not as bright as it shows in pics; it's a faded out blah look. Maybe it was just a defect in this one robe, I don't know, but it was too ugly to keep. I then went with Dark Blue & White Plaid, and this is my keeper. It looks almost black in the pics, but it's indeed dark blue and it is gorgeous, and I get the white I wanted all along, but not enough to worry about stains showing so obviously. The other reason I stuck with Del Rossi is the feel of these robes; most plush, soft & comfy I've ever had, and reasonably lightweight (still VERY warm though.) The lighter weight (as compared to a Turkish terry, for example, which are usually quite heavy) gives me some small hope I might be able to wear this in warmer months... but I kinda doubt it. It's a cold weather robe by nature, and I think I'll sweat in this pretty badly in summer. With AC or fans on though, and the sleeves pushed up, this could come in pretty handy as a possible all-season robe. We'll see. I recommend this robe very highly, and thanks, Del Rossi, for letting me exchange until I got the right one. ... show more
