I am using this split wire tubing to redress the wiring harness on a mid-90's vehicle where the original tubing is cracked and is disintegrating near the top of the engine where the ignition components reside. I cut a small samples of the 3/8" tubing and heated it to a surface temperature of about 220 degs F for 30 minutes. The tubing completely collapsed after this exposure (see first image) I then cut another small sample and reduced the surface temperature to of about 200 deg F for 30 minutes. The second sample show some signs of deformation and melting but to a much more acceptable level (see second image). From this quick test, I would expect this material to survive some level of thermal exposure but will start to deform at about 210 deg F. I am planning to use this tubing for the project, but I will be verifying that it does not come in contact with very hot components in the engine compartment. I got this to protect some of my wires from my free roamer rabbit but it's not thick, hard enough. He chewed through it with no effort and got the wire of the lamp I have. It's completely useless against him. I purchased it because of all the good reviews from other bunny owners. I ended up taping the wire to my brick wall and baseboard with double sided cat scratch tape and he haven't touched it ever since. ... show more

Adopted a cat who loves to chew through electrical wires, lucky me. I’ve used this tubing everywhere and it has almost completely eliminated, if not totally eliminated her chewing. Occasionally I might see her try to chew the tubing but she seems to quickly lose interest, I’m assuming due to the texture. And she has not been able to chew through the tubing to the wires. Not sure if there’s anything better out there for these purposes, but it has worked well for my cat. The half inch size is extremely easy to cut and slip over wires. I’ve tried the thinner sized tubing from a different brand and found it very challenging to get over wires as easily. ... show more

I ordered this to protect my electrical cords from two ferocious kittens who chew on everything. It was easy to use, very easy to cut to desired lengths. The 1/2" was more than big enough for standard electrical cords, and even a few thicker cords such as computers and monitors. The 50 ft. length covered quite a few of my items (lamps, fans, etc.), and I'm going to order some more to finish the job. The 1/4" would probably be great for phone cords and smaller items. What I most concern about ordering split wire loom tubing are 1) if the material is good. 2) if the wire loom tubing is thick enough. 3) if the thickness is uniform. 4) if the split tubing can be perfectly closed automatically.     • Easy to use to prevent kinking of pressure washer hose

I purchased this wire tubing to keep my AR Blue 383 pressure washer hose protected and also keep it from kinking. The hose kept kinking in two spots and was rather aggravating each time I used the pressure washer. This wire tubing worked great for preventing kinking of the hose plus it protects the hose too. I purchased the 1/2inch diameter size which fit perfectly around the PW hose. I did have to cut off about 5ft with just a regular pair of scissors since my pw hose is 20ft long and I used a couple of plastic cable ties to secure it around the hose at both ends. Since I wrapped this tubing around my pressure washer hose I've pressure washed my deck, front of the house and both front and rear cement walkways and the hose never kinked, not once while being used!! And despite all the dragging around of the hose during use, the tubing does not show any wear and tear, yet. ... show more
