  • Nice little toy keyboard for kids, but too small for adult hands
Style: 32 keys
It's a nice little toy for kids. The keys are tiny, so adults would have a difficult time playing chords. But it's very compact, it runs on 4 AA batteries, it has a headphone jack so your budding Bach won't drive you insane, and it has a pile of built-in sounds and accompaniments. All of the sounds are pretty lo-fi, but hey, it's a $50 keyboard. You were expecting Jacob Collier? ... show more

  • Good for the price.
Style: 32 keys
It's not the best, but for the price it's does what it needs to. The speaker quality isn't the best and the keys don't feel awesome, but for the price it's perfectly fine.

  • Great keyboard for the price
Style: 32 keys
Pros: Great for composing melodies. A budget keyboard that's actually playable and inspiring. I found myself making up nice musical riffs/motifs on the fly with ease. I feel that this is when you know an instrument has soul and is a good fit for you when you instantly start jamming out. A great portable option for basic practice and composition as well as a nice compact MIDI keyboard option (most are either 25 keys (too small) or 49 keys (too large), so a 32-key keyboard is a great option). Cons: keys are not touch-sensitive (velocity-sensitive), so you get the same loudness and timbre no matter how hard or soft you play a note. Also, as you can expect, a lot of the sounds are pretty cheesy-sounding, but quite a few are actually pretty realistic/pleasant-sounding. This would be a great fit for a high school or middle school age student, or even a gifted elementary-age student. It would also work for college-age and adults, but by that point, you're probably wanting something at least a little more professional. Also note that you may get some electronic noise as a constant but soft squealing sound when plugged into some USB power sources. If this happens, just try plugging it into a different USB device for power. But again, given the price of $50, this is a pretty good keyboard! ... show more

  • Great keyboard!
Style: 32 keys
The Alesis Melody 32 – Portable 32 Key Mini Digital Piano is easy to use and a great keyboard to practice on or just to have fun with. There are so many sound variations that come out of this keyboard and the sound quality is very good and it seems pretty solid as well and for the price you can't beat it. Over all I really like it! 10/10. ... show more

  • Ordered this twice. No Amazon packaging. Item box beat to s...!
Style: 32 keys
2 stars because surprisingly the keyboard is still in great shape? Amazon has stopped caring about the shipping protection of their products, and so have all of it's carriers. The keyboard seams to be a very quality item for it's price. I am at least happy about that. And other than the poor packaging, Amazon still has a great customer service overall. 1 more star. ... show more

  • Excelente piano
Style: 32 keys

  • THIS WILL MAKE YOUR DECISION! (read)
Style: 32 keys
This review will incorporate people shopping for a child, a beginner adult, or even a professional looking for a convenient toy. Okay. There is a reason I put this at a one star and it’s not because I think it’s truly a one star product (if viewed properly). I just know that people either read the five stars or the one stars and I didn’t want this to be in the five stars. Let me start off by saying, no matter what way you look at this, the price is too high. I am not a beginner. I have went through many professional full 88 key keyboards but this is NOT a review to compare to them. I was looking for something that I can keep next to my bed, no cords or wires, no external speakers, no laptop, no midi recording. Just a small battery powered keyboard that I can keep near me. I am a piano player and as many pianists would agree, sometimes late at night you just want to get a riff out of your system or maybe learn or write a melody quickly. Technically this works for that BUT there are issues. You would think this would be a great product for people like me but that’s only at first glance. First off, you can’t play base notes. It’s only 32 keys so don’t think you can get the feel of a good solo jam sesh. I would’ve maybe kept this product longer (probably still not forever) but you can’t even change octaves!! When you choose a voice (out of the 300 kinda cheap sounding voices) you can only play with the octave they assign. The volume buttons work but whenever you turn it on, it is on a loud setting. And even volume 1 is kinda too loud for my comfort. Now, if you’re buying this for a child, STILL DONT. As a children’s toy, it definitely works without a doubt. But you do not need to pay over $50 for a children’s keyboard. If you are buying this for a beginner adult, STILL DONT. As a beginner keyboard, you will need more than 32 keys in order to get some good progress. Trust me. I am currently waiting on a slightly larger keyboard (49-52 keys, I can’t remember) to come in the mail and I will test that out and do a review on that one too if needed. ALL I AM SAYING IS if you are looking for a keyboard for a child, look cheaper ($10-$30). If you are looking for a beginner adult or even the same reason I was looking, don’t bother with this one. If it was half the price, it would be great for children. That’s about it. The fact that it has a MIDI function is the reason it’s $50+. I personally wouldn’t even use it as a MIDI controller anyways. And if I was looking for a MIDI controller, there are plenty of others that are better, with more functions (maybe a drum pad), that are listed at a more reasonable price to reflect the product. I hope this helped. I tried to cover every reason why someone would buy this. I will try to find a way to have you guys also see my review on the next product if I do so. ... show more
