The bookcase was pretty easy to put together. However, there were significant gaps between some of the pieces and a few of the holes were already stripped so the screws would not tighten. Also, the shelves were slightly too long and would not fit onto the shelf supports. No amount of force was going to get them to fit. As I was talking the bookcase apart to send back, I noticed the wooden pegs had split the holes that they fit into. They were tight to get in as well. ... show more

Taking the pieces out of the box I was impressed with the quality of materials. But I ended up returning it for two reasons. One of the four posts was warped enough it couldn't be used. But what made it impossible for me is that this uses many wood screws and there are no starter holes in the wood. So I literally couldn't get one screw in because the wood is nice and hard. I've assembled a lot of furniture and that's a first for me. It would have looked nice, so still giving three stars for effort. ... show more

The bookcase was very durable but the problem we had was there was no instructions and only half of the screws were there. We had to go online and find some instructions that Home Depot happened to have the same bookcase as it had 12 steps of putting it together. Otherwise we liked the bookcase.
