Pros (The Good Stuff): VALUE IS INSANE: Got this for $230. It feels like an $800+ guitar, seriously. BUILD QUALITY: The finish, the roasted maple neck, and the frets are perfect. This is where all the money went. NECK: The multi-scale neck (fanned frets) feels great and the heel is super clean. FREE STUFF: Comes with a backpack gig bag, a strap, a distortion pedal, and a string dampener. CUSTOMER SERVICE: They actually answered my questions and confirmed warranty coverage. Cons (The Bad Stuff): PICKUPS: after talking with customer support I may have got a bad set or something they were great fixing it. This guitar is nice, worth twice what they are asking. The strings are not very nice but the guitar is as good as others in the 500 range. I'd say this guitar plays as good as any Jackson or Ibanez guitar in the same price range plays. Comes packed really well. I ended up getting two of them and didn't have any issues with either guitar. Pickup are a little heavy on the bass to me but nothing you can eq out. No uneven frets on either of the two I received, no dead spots and it looks amazing out the box compared to other brands we all know by name. Comes with a little pedal and a strap to go around the neck to help kill string noise. The pedal does not come with a power supply and does not take batteries so you will need to buy a power supply for it but at this price that should probably be expected. The bag it comes with is not to bad. It's got a few pockets to store stuff, protects the guitar and looks okay. I spent a few hours playing it now and I still don't understand how this guitar is so cheap. They have to have cut corners somewhere but I can't really see where. I'm not trying to say this could hold up to a pro level 8 string like an LTD but as far as a good guitar to start out with this is it! If you want to see what extended range Multi-Scale guitar is all about buy this one. I own 4 cheap 8 strings and they have nothing on this guitar and 2 of them cost more. Haven't have any issue holding a tune, or with any fret buzz. It does need a set up I think as the strings are a bit higher than I'd like nevertheless you will not find another guitar this good at this price. Hands down best guitar in this price range.

Overall, a VERY impressive guitar for the price. Played very well out of the box with minimal setup. The fit and finish are in line with my other built-in Korea/Indonesia; it's an A+. Finer details below, but if you are looking for an inexpensive 8-string (heavy metal chungus) guitar and might do some upgrades, learn luthier skills, etc., while having zero fears of a large investment or breaking a large investment - this is "the one". The Aklot customer Service is BEYOND amazing. I DID have ONE minor blemish on the headstock (chip in the paint). Aklot Customer Service responded in less than 12h and provided a solution that 100% resolved the issue in a timely manner, to an as-new state. I am VERY impressed. Keep in mind, with lower-priced guitars, the price cuts are coming from somewhere IE: lower quality hardware, fit and finish, material quality, and/or finishing work. That's not to say low-priced guitars don't play well... but, if you are willing to improve your setup/luthier skills, a high-quality budget guitar can play as well as $1200++ guitars. In the case of Aklot, the cost-cutting is in simple, sensible areas (mostly hardware) that are easy for most/any person to resolve if they want a more refined instrument. The Good: - All wood is quality material, dense, strong - great tone. The neck is a correctly roasted maple - It was packaged very well - paint and finish are A-grade, no manufacturing defects found. - setup was mostly right, needed some intonation tweaks and tuning - Frets are, in fact, stainless with zero sharp edges (ball end) - Bridge hardware is solid and well-built. - Neck is a nice, fast, thin profile. very easy to play. - The neck had zero warping and was very straight from the factory without tension on the truss rod The less-good (things we should all expect on >$300 guitars): - Tuners could be better. They DO fit 80/85 on the low with zero fuss. locking would be nice. - The pickups are fine for djent/Metal tones, but not the highest output nor cleanest. easy swap if you choose. - The nut is some sort of plastic - not a huge issue - it's what we expect for a sub $300 guitar. - There were a couple of high frets; tapping or mild leveling was needed. I have this problem with $1000 guitars too. - electronics cavity was NOT shielded - easily solved with some copper/alum tape or conductive paint. It wasn't very noisy, but something to note if you already have ground loop issues. - Electronics are nothing fancy, but they work. Not Guitar Related: - included distortion pedal: great for someone that doesnt have a distortion pedal. No included 9v power. - The strap included was an "instrument strap", not a guitar strap - I would buy a strap. - The gig bag is a huge value. It's not the most rigid foam, but better than some I have paid $50 for Overall, I would highly recommend this guitar - and due to the excellent experience with this guitar and their service, I purchased a beginner drum set from Aklot for our kids.

Wow, is this guitar fantastic. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical when I first saw it because surely it was too good to be true, but honestly, I've only had it for a little bit and I can already tell that I made the right choice. First of all, just a bit over 300$ is a fantastic price for an 8 string guitar considering that a lot of the good ones are usually $400-500+. But even though it's priced low doesn't mean that it isn't a great guitar. It feels very sturdy and nice to use, it's not too heavy so I can carry it around pretty easily, and as far as I can tell, keeping it in tune is not too bad. It will probably need a setup at some point, because there is some buzzing in the strings, but of course that's to be expected and for this price point I really can't complain. All that on it's own would be enough to be worth it to me, but on top of that, it also comes with it's own case, a strap, a string mute, and even an extra distortion pedal. It honestly blows my mind that you're getting so much value with this. If you ever want to purchase an 8 string guitar and you come across this while it's in stock, don't hesitate, you really won't find a better deal at this price range.

Looks amazing. One tiny flaw in the body - a small ding, about the size of an ink pen tip, right below the bridge - that happened during or after cutting, and they painted & clear coated right over it. I don't really mind because you cannot see it unless you look quite close. Definitely not something anyone will notice, unless I point it out. No surprise, it needed a full setup - action high, & the intonation was way off, as there is apparently no setup at the factory, because the bridges adjusters were all set in default/new position. Fortunately that's an easy enough fix. Neck was surprisingly straight. Required no truss adjustment. There is no cavity shielding, and the pickups and/or electronics pretty much suck. With any slight amount of overdrive it's very noisy, picking up electrical interference, causing a constant buzz. Which is pretty common, from my experience with these hyper budget instruments. No biggie. I have copper shielding tape, and the guts from an Ibanez 8-string that I'll swap out. I only found two options on here for modestly priced replacement 8-string pickups, and they're so cheap, they very likely aren't any better. I do believe the guitar bones are worth upgrading even if you have to fork out $200-300 for a brand name pup set. One surprise, was that the stock strings didn't suck. I've been playing on them until I swap the pickups and have to change. Overall - for the low cost, I'm quite pleased, and would purchase from Aklot again. Maybe the other 8 stringer in the red/brown wood (whatever) color, lol. Very good bang-for-the-buck.

got the red 7 first thing to notice is it's slightly smaller than a standard 7 from other brands i looked at like ibanez, but it makes it more comfortable so thats ok, at first glance your not sure its actually a 7. the lines are near perfect and the finish is beautiful and reminds me of cherry wood furniture, in person you can see the woodgrain underneath. Semi playable out of the box once tuned up but I usually change strings and do a onceover on the setup anyways, i wanted a multiscale since 2018 when they came out but the cheapest name brand being 600+ to try something new and the other off brands having issues lately it seems I thought it was off the table for a bit more time. I dont know where this came from but damn this is a machine. fretboard is flat and the neck is smooth. It actually feels a tiny bit thinner then my reg 6 and the whole kit looks very close to the CORT KX307 which is the original multiscale. Its got some weight to it but the archtop helps from being too heavy, overall i love this guitar and it made my hands hurt lol. Im glad they didnt cheese out with one of the other less dense woods as its very resonant with lots of sustain. Combined with the roasted maple fretboard the sound is warm and poppy without being too dark. This guitar should be able to play whatever style you want with ease. But it's definitely a shredder. even the pots feel above grade. Now I need a version with stainless frets and locking tuners please. The distortion is a simple dirt type filter but it's actually pretty nice. I run an AC30 style pedal as my base/clean tone, putting this in front sounds great. comparable to one of the settings on my fatrat pedal. lots of crunchy crunch but can be dialed back to a warm overdrive. even saturated the notes are clear. probably will sound really good in front of a lot of amps. as far as deals go this is truly a monster one, even if you have to go have it fully set up. also found out they make a 6 string version. if your interested in multiscale or 7 or 8 strings this is a killer starter. heck this thing smokes 80% of guitars in the price range, just wow.

Mine came with 0 finish defects, and was surprisingly playable out of the box. Even the bridge and tuners are nicer than the Jackson JS-22 7 I have had for a while. The bag and fret wrap are a nice touch, haven't used the pedal or the strap. Strings that it shipped with are surprisingly heavy gauge, and I was able to throw this in Drop G out of the box. Intonation was 99% of the way there, slightly adjusted the 4th string. Setup is a 9/10. The pickups are fairly low output, but with a bit of EQ and a decent overdrive they're more than useable. Overall, a great addition to my collection, and plays better than a lot of the Jackson and Schecter 7 strings I've owned in the 3-600$ price range.

I have the 7 string. Feels great. Intonation is great. Looks amazing. Get this guitar before the price goes up because you can’t beat the value and the quality. It was packaged well and safe. The guitar also comes with a distortion pedal which I haven’t tried because I don’t have a 9v ac barrel jack but for me that’s fine because separately I have purchased a cool little Hotones Pulze mini to play around on. Great combo imo. This also came with picks and a strap as well as a guitar string mute. Check for what it all comes with because I may not be listing everything but it should be in the images. The controls and switch’s feel solid. It plays well out the box. Really, the only thing this awesome guitar doesn’t come with is guitar stand and a guitar amp!
