I asked a CHP officer in CA if they were legal (since the warning said for off road use only) and he said these were fine! These seem great right now. My only concern would be once it rains and possible leakage. As of right now, they look great. I just installed them. I have yet to drive with them or see how they look when the truck is driven. If I find faults in the lights, I will update the review.

There are quite a few to different types to choose from today. But I Chose these AKKON black housing with smoked lense taillights because the Black appeared darker to me and I was more fond of the cluster of LED’s when braking. Now that I have them, felt the weight and have seen the thickness of the plastic, I would have even paid more. There was several reviews about the wiring not being correct. This may have been early on, but me and some other Tacoma friends had no problem at all. One of them blew a taillight fuse under the dash located by the hood latch. Replaced fuse, all perfect! Disappointed. I ordered these for my son for Christmas. Before I even opened the box there was a big warning label saying they were not street legal. So I returned them.

I bought these for my cousin who has a vehicle that he can actually customize. What a HUGE difference these make in the look of the truck. Aside from the obvious LED upgrade, they function well, and give the his truck a unique look. Plus the lens are nice and HEAVY which leads me to believe that they are well made and from good quality polycarbonate. The only issue we had was there was no instructions, but finding the right YouTube video took care of that in about 2 minutes. That's why this gets 4 stars instead of 5.
