  • Pretty decent sports camera for the price
The media could not be loaded. I haven't had this camera long, but I did have it long enough to put it through what I would use it for. Holding the camera it feels very solid, as you would expect from higher priced brands. Plenty of accessories to get you started, and the mounts are interchangeable with most sports camera accessories. (I would order an accessory kit with this camera) Camera function is easy to navigate once you get used to it. (Download the user manual in the link that is on the quick start guide) I've attached this to an additional mount on my Dji Inspire drone to capture some sunset images (in video) Dash cam, head mount, and gimbal footage are very clear (in video) even before editing. I have yet to do submerged videos/photos due to temperature in my area (I will update when I get the chance) I like all of the features on this camera so far except for one... the voice commands. You have to be facing the the lens for most commands to work, and be a close distance in order for the mic to pick up commands. Half of the commands didn't work on the first few tries, and if there is background noise you could probably just forget this feature. Just use the provided remote. ... show more

  • Great upgrade from Akaso Brave 4, great value, a little more bang for your buck.
The Akaso Brave 6 is a very nice upgrade from the Brave 4 that own. The Brave 6 has a more premium feel to it, The case is 2-tone grey and black, battery door is hinged and less likely you going to lose it when changing batteries, and Akaso supplies you with 2 1050mAh batteries and charger. SD card slot is also behind the battery door which is a nice touch, on the opposite side of the camera the HDMI and USB ports are covered by a attached rubber cover to keep them clean and free of dirt. One the front of the camera is the power on/off switch which glows blue when camera is on and blinks when the camera is recording, the 3 other controls are on the top of the camera. These controls are for the shutter when taking still photographs or starting and stop recording, the up and down arrows are for navigating the simple but intuitive settings menu options. The Brave 6 weighs slightly more than the Brave 4. As far as picture/video quality the Brave 6 is slightly better than the Brave 4 with 1080P at 60 FPS still being the best option for recording video. With voice command and remote control are very nice touches to this camera. Of course Akaso sends you plenty of mounts, and a water proof case as well. The only thing I wish they would of included is a port for a remote mic, the mic that is built into the Brave 6 is okay but a remote mic would have better sound quality. The Brave 6 from what I can see is a good value for your money with image stabilization/anti shake, 6 voice commands, camera remote, time laspe, WDR, motion detection, and other settings, waterproof case, and a good selection of mounts that come with it you just cant beat the price. Also if something happens to the camera it gets damaged or stolen, for less than $100 you can replace it, not the $300 plus you would have to spend on a GoPro. Give it a try I know you wont be dissapointed. ... show more

  • Clear upgrade over Brave 4
As a AKASO Brave 4 user, the Brave 6 is a clear upgrade in both form and function. In terms of form, the case design is superior with buttons on two sides of the device (top and front) instead of 3 (top, front, side). The latch size has been minimized and is now on the side. The blue indicator light in front is a nice touch, and has a premium look. The actual camera unit now is two toned depending on color, and the black and gray again has a more premium look and feel. The camera unit dimensions have been streamlined with a longer width and length, but a smaller thickness. In terms of form, the Voice Control is a cool feature and works, although I have yet to test in various conditions. The User Interface has also been dramatically improved, and is much more user friendly when used with the improved button positioning. Overall, this Brave 6 is clearly worth the ~$15 price increase over the Brave 4, and is a model I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Nicely upgraded action camera!
Akaso really listened to their customers when designing the Brave 6- they addressed what were mostly minor flaws in a great little camera, which I will run thru later, to bring their product to the next level. The new Brave 6, as did the Brave 4, takes stunning video in all modes, the 4k really shines tho I use it (as well as I did the Brave 4) mainly on the lower settings as the majority of the tv's and monitors I use regularly are not 4K so I prefer to save space on the microSD cards by allowing it to create smaller files for the same length of video. It makes a great dash/motorcycle camera, which is my main use, especially with its 'Driving Mode where turns itself on and off when plugged into a key switched power source and records all day using the USB input for power without needing to swap batteries every 45 minutes to an hour. You can set it for loop recording or to shut off when the card is full, I usually set mine to loop with it filling the 64gb card after about 8 hours of recording time on its medium setting. With its image stabilization it takes very smooth video even in the rough and bouncing cab of the Frieghtliner Cascadia I drive for a living, making the ride over the rough bridges and tunnels around Hampton, Va appear calm and boring. The included remote control works well and is handing when recording situations where you want to set the camera in a spot that doesn't allow fast access- such as recording video (or taking pictures) with the camera shooting from above or from down low. Set your camera(s) for your shot, then start and stop recording without having to leave the area you are recording for retakes or breaks- I use this feature in my shop for recording projects and set the cameras in different locations around my work area. The new voice control feature works, but isn't really useful for me due to background noises when working. Some reviewers have mentioned issues with the new app for the Akaso line- I haven't used it as the Brave 6 will function fine with the older CamKing App the Brave 4 uses and I don't need or want two seperate apps on my phone to do the same thing. maybe one day i will try the newer one myself and use which ever works best. The Brave 6 (shown in between my GoPro Hero 2014 and my older Akaso Brave 4) has a much more solid feel to it than the Brave 4 does. Gone is the LED screen on the front, replaced with a simpler ring light to show you when the camera is running. While I never felt the LED screen was needed and don't miss it, I would like the ability to turn off the ring light so that it doesn't give away the camera when filming with multiple cameras (it may turn off, if so I haven't found the option yet). The Brave 4, while it has held up great, always felt slightly "cheap" and its MicroSD slot was difficult to remove the card from and was exposed to dirt and dust along with the USB and HDMI ports. With the Brave 6 they added a rubber sealing plug to cover the USB and HDMI ports and moved the card slot to behind the battery door, the hinged battery door itself being one of the major improvements on the Brave 6. It uses the same batteries as the Brave 4 did, so if you already have the older model you can share your extra batteries between the cameras (important to me). Overall I still feel that the Akaso action cameras are some of the best bang for your buck and will continue to use them, taking video that is truly impressive for an under $100 camera. Is it a GoPro Hero 7? No, but I can buy 3 to 5 of these for the same price! ... show more
