They are waterproof and set inside a thick transparent tube that protects the lights from the basketball. The lights can be controlled by a remote and have many different light colors and motions. Looking for that special neighborhood disco themed basketball evening party?!? This is what you want! All kidding aside, this is a cute and fun accessory to add to your basketball hoop. It's a single plastic tube of lights that you can wrap around any part of the hoop. Best used when it's very dark, it really lights things up and gives the kids, neighbors, and yourself a lot of fun in the evening. The battery case seals tight and has survived several rainfalls with no issues. It provides a series of different settings including a steady color, changing colors, blinking, etc. The only "con" is that the remote isn't super sturdy, and if you lose the remote, you're out of luck on some of the fun settings. My son and I like to play basketball in the evenings. These LED Basketball Hoop Lights are so much fun. The remote works great to turn them on/off as well as change the colors. It was very easy to install. It does need 3 AA batteries - not included. Great option for those evening or night games.
