Has less pleats but all that means is you have to change it sooner than the OEM. It doesn't mean it will capture less dust or anything of the sort.     • Fits fine, but instructions are hard to follow
I just had a service on my 2017 Prius II, but I took it out and installed it to make sure it would fit. It fits great, so I'll be saving it for my next service. I had to look at a video on YouTube to figure out how to install it (it's very easy) since the directions that came with it were not clear due mostly to the pictures being too dark to be able to see any details. It has fewer folds than the OEM filter, so take that into account. I'll keep this as a spare, especially if we have a fire or dust storm that may clog up the other filter prematurely. ... show more

This filter works well for my car and was easy to install. It seems to work fine, however I would replace this one a bit earlier than the stock filter as it seems to have less frills and the material is different to. Regardless, it works for now and I doubt the differences would cause any issues.

The Engine Air Filter came packaged in a purple box along with a page of installation instructions. Unfortunately, the pictures in the installation instructions were way too dark to be able to make out any detail, so I looked online and found a YouTube video that showed the process much more clearly. After watching the video, the installation was easy. You simply pop open two clips, then lift the cover over the Engine Air Filter. Lift the old filter out and drop the new one in, then replace the cover and snap the clips. The whole process took less than a minute. The replacement filter was a perfect fit and seems to work fine. I'm rating it at four stars instead of five only because of the poor quality of the images in the installation instructions. ... show more

I purchased this product for my 2021 Toyota Prius prime since it has passed the recommended 15k for changing out the engine’s air filter. You can tell that the quality of this filter is not to par as Toyota’s original. I felt lighter (and cheaper) than the original Toyota’s, so I counted the filter fingers/sleeves on the Toyota’s, which was 72. This replacement filter only has 59! This will surely allow a lot more junk to pass to my engine since the gaps are larger. I plan on replacing this “new” air filter at my next 5k service since I do not have much confidence in it. I would change it now, but since I already spend money on it, I can’t simply toss it out. These replacement filters are great if you’re in a bind, but sadly, I can’t recommend them as a permanent replacement or long term solution since it doesn’t have the same workmanship or specs as the OEM Toyotas. The media could not be loaded. I picked up this filter to go into my 2016 Prius 🚗 It fit perfectly and I compared it to my OEM Toyota filter. While it appeared well made, one thing I took a notice of is that the OEM filter for the Toyota Prius came with more pleats. That would allow better breathing of the engine with less build up over time. If you're replacing this every 20,000 mi or so it shouldn't be a problem. However comparing it to the Toyota OEM filter, since the original has more pleats that equals more mileage before replacement. I saw another reviewer claiming that this filter did not fit his 2016 Prius. I'm not sure if he had a different filter delivered, however I can assure you I own a Toyota Prius III with ATP package and it worked on mine. It is a little tricky getting the air filter put back on so I don't know if maybe they weren't sure how to snap the back lid on first before pushing it down or what. Please check out my install video. All in all, given the filters price, it is a very affordable and a decent alternative to the Toyota OEM filter 17801-21060. I know at my parts counter I was quoted 27.60 for a new air filter and so this may be a much more affordable option and a great value over factory filters. ... show more

I got this for my 2015 Toyota Prius C Hybrid. The dealer said it would work, so it replaced having to get an expensive OEM version with the Toyota label on it. Saved some $$
