Description

AIRHEAD® Double Action Pump. Perfect For Topping off Towables This double action pump inflates and deflates tubes, airbeds, boats, toys and other inflatables. It delivers a continuous stream of air on both the up and down strokes. Simply turn the release valve counter-clockwise and you're pumping air only on the down-stroke. This is a great option when your inflatable is almost full and there's back pressure. Four universal valve fittings are included. The accordion-style hose stretches to 5 ft. long and interlocks to the pump, so that it doesn't fall off while you're pumping. Capacity is approximately 68 gallons / 60 strokes. Especially great for topping off towables, since peak pressure is 14 psi.

  • Great reliable pump
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
Bought one 4 years ago and used it all that time for kitesurfing, works great. Just lost it and replacing with a new one!

  • Add Me To The List !!
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
We just got back from camping, and got a chance to use this pump. Well, actually, we *had* to use this pump, because I forgot to pack my battery powered air mattress pump that we normally use. OK, here's the story: I've always used a 4 D-cell battery powered air mattress pump. It works pretty quickly, but never had enough power to really make the mattress firm enough. Wanting a bit better sleep on this summer's camping trips, I did some research and found the Airhead hand pump. My original plan was to fill up our queen-size air mattress 90% of the way with the battery pump, and then finish it off with a hand pump to actually get it firm enough for good sleep. I figured that would be faster and easier. Well, so we put up the tent, and I asked my wife where the battery pump was. Turns out that each of us thought that the other person had packed it in the truck. So, instead we got out the Airhead pump and got to work. I was very impressed with this hand pump. The "double action" pumping really moves a lot of air quickly, and the pump operated smoothly. It really did not take very much effort. We each took two short turns pumping, and the queen air mattress was just about full. I switched over to single-action mode for the last few pumps, as I thought I remembered reading that you could get better pressure this way. Unlike some of the reviewers, I had no problem with the hose coming out of the mattress. It simply worked great. My only advice is to pump smoothly and take care not to push/pull the handles crookedly as it is a plastic mechanism and I suppose that this would cause the plastic to stress and break eventually. Bottom line: This thing is a bargain. It didn't take any longer than using the battery pump (possibly even less?) and for the first time, we were able to blow up the mattress to be firm enough. Plus, I no longer need to worry about checking the batteries in the electric pump. From now on, this will be the only one we're packing in the truck. ... show more

  • Works like a champ
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
This thing just works like a champ. It IS a little big - you wouldn't want it in your backpack, I don't think, but for camping where you take a vehicle, or for at home if you just want something that will work without electricity, this works just great. The attachments had one that fits, and stays in til you take it out, my old Coleman single air mattress. Fills it very quickly using the pump on both strokes setting. Even fills fairly fast on the single stroke setting since the air chamber is fairly large, but the 2-stroke is much faster and not that much harder to do. Got it for a few bucks less marked "Used" from Amazon's Warehouse Deals as the box it came in was mangled. What do I care about the box? Such a deal... Update 7-3-16: Still loving this pump. Had to get a new air matress, got an extra tall one this time, twin size. It took 200 strokes on the double pump setting. That may sound like a lot, and I guess it kind of is, but I like that the inflation can be accomplished without electricity and I just wanted to see how long/how many strokes it took. Though I hate the sound the electric pumps make, next time I probably would use one for the initial fill, and finish it off with this hand pump as this one will definitely get you up to a much firmer fill. The electric ones, mine at least, will start to complain at the resistance as the item gets almost full, leaving you with a mushy matress. A few pumps with the AirHead gets rid of all that mushiness. I'd buy this thing again in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Simple to use with all the attachments needed
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
Since I bought "not new" for under $12, appears in perfect unused condition except for box, and it works as advertised, it's hard to imagine not worth it. I have Aquaglide Deshutels 145 2 person Kayak that has the Halkey-Roberts valve adapter, and one of the adapter that comes with the pump works with that, so I couldn't be more happy. ... show more

  • Adaptors don't work with advanced elements kayak!
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
Overall the pump is alright but we have had no luck getting the adaptor to fit properly to the advanced elements kayak head.

  • Good but short.
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
I like the pump, works well, inflates quickly. My only complaint is the height of the item. Its just not tall enough, your back will hurt if you have something bigger to blow up. I have another pump that is taller that i use a bit more simce it doesnt hurt my back as much. I am not a tall person either (5'7) so if you are taller than me you will definitely have a harder time using this. ... show more

  • ... brand and slightly different) had a hose that kinked easily and developed holes
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
I got this pump since the hose on my older pump of the same style (but from a different brand and slightly different) had a hose that kinked easily and developed holes. The hose on this model is flexible and lightweight. It also has the ability to pump on both strokes or just the down stroke, which is quite nice (see below). I use this to pump up an inflatable kayak which fills to 7 psi. Typically these pumps push air on both the down and up strokes. In one of the first uses when I was getting close to max pressure, the top popped off on the upward stroke. It easily threads back on but I was a bit miffed that it seemed that sloppy. However, this model has a cap that opens to allow air to escape when pulling up, so that only the down stroke pumps. I did this to prevent the top from popping at higher pressure. Setting it like this indeed prevented the top from popping off, but actually was easier on the arms to pump. In other words, at the pressure where you risk the top popping off, that upward stroke is just not worth the extra effort. ... show more

  • Doesn't pump much air going up
Color: Yellow and Black Size: One Size
It's supposed to pump air on both the up and down pump, but it doesn't pump much air on the up stroke. A pump I used to have pumped faster overall. Also there's a valve to choose between pumping on just one stroke or both the up and down stroke (yes I had it on the both setting). Why would you ever not want to pump air on both? The unnecessary complexity isn't a good engineering/design decision and means there could be issues in other areas. It does seem pretty sturdy though. It also has a deflate option that could be useful. Though it's also slightly harder to pump than other pumps which would be fine with me if it pumped more air and were as fast overall but it's not. ... show more
