  • Seems good so far!
My vehicle is a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, air suspension, 3.6L V6. The compressor has been sounding odd for a while and definitely seems to be cycling more and more. I've checked and rechecked for leaks, and other than the usual suspects, I haven't found anything. I've also changed out the relay for the compressor as a stab at a solution before replacing the compressor. But, if you've been around compressors, you know the changes in sounds and bogging down that indicate it is probably on its last legs. So, that is where I started. Replacing the compressor is not for a casual DIY, it is pretty involved. Be prepared to jack up the vehicle, remove the front passenger side tire, remove the inner fender skirt (and break all the plastic fasteners in the process), in order to get to the compressor. Once you're in there, just use common sense and take alot of pictures, don't twist or kink any of the lines, mark the lines in some way as you take them off to make re-installation easier. and just take your time. It's not a terribly difficult job, but if the thought of doing spark plugs or a water pump intimidates you, it's probably best to hand this job to a pro. All of that being said, I did test the compressor before I started and I was able to make it run so I know it is good. I am midway through the job right now and I'm done for the night. It appears to be a direct, bolt on replacement. Even the color coding on the hookups is the same. Same air lines, same air hookups, same electrical connectors, same everything as far as I can tell. Not to mention, the price is alot cheaper than other places. My local auto parts store offers a compressor for about 3x the price of this one and it doesn't come with alot of the items this kit has included. Solid buy. Test it before you begin, make double sure, then triple sure, this is your issue, take your time and it is a great, cost-effective replacement. ... show more
