  • This is not a fake review!
In looking for a cook book for my new Cosori air fryer, I was amazed at the number of obvious fake reviews for the other cook books. Just about all of them 5 stars, and very little profile on the reviewers. Well, you can check my profile and see that I am pretty truthful. As for this book, it is head and shoulders over 3 other ones I ordered (yep, I had gotten desperate). So glad this came out. Big colorful pictures, great collection of practical recipes, and even anecdotes of how they arrived at each recipe. Best of the bunch....by far!! ... show more

  • We are glad we bought this book to help cook correctly air fryer recipes. Very tasty! And easy 2 do
So far so good. You have to remember that America’s test kitchen tries to please everyone meaning this book is probably good for 2 to 4 people and cooking and an air fryer, remember that a air fryer is not an oven or the stove, and anything that cooks with heat it’s going to smell or smoke. We have the Nuwave brio 6 quart air fryer oven an like it very much, very quiet compare another we had and fits under counter. As I said before the few recipes that we have tried from this book have been tasty , Plenty of simple directions and pictures, using a few ingredients needed to make these recipes. We are glad we bought it. ... show more

  • Awesome! Perfect for any air fryer.
This book is awesome. My husband received an air fryer for Christmas so we pre-ordered this book, hoping ATK could teach us how to use it for more than just reheating frozen snacks. We have trusted ATK for many years- we own multiple cookbooks and subscribe to their magazines. This book continues ATK’s tradition of teaching you the science behind the product/food as well as a variety of delicious recipes. It contains a large variety of main dishes and side dishes as well as snacks. Our air fryer is not one of the recommended models, yet each recipe has come out perfect (even with small changes to ingredients). If you are a loyal fan of ATK’s style and brand and are curious about using an air fryer, this book will not disappoint! ... show more

  • A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT...
I usually like ATC recipes, both on-line and on TV. However, this cookbook dedicated to Air Fryer recipes falls far short. The first 2 recipes I tried in the book were both for potatoes, and both had such overly complicated directions for what should have been simple processes that I have decided to write a review immediately. The first, for Crispy Smashed Potatoes, a 2 step cooking process, tells you to make a bowl out of aluminum foil, add some water, crimp tightly, and bake at 400 in air fryer for 25 to 30 minutes. Then you are supposed to smash, drizzle with oil, and crisp in fryer. (I assume at 400 also, it does not say.) But after 30 and even 40 minutes in the foil “bowl” the potatoes were still too firm to smash. And each time you want to test, you have to open foil or pierce it. Why? When only 10 or so minutes steamed on top of the stove would give you perfect potatoes for smashing. The 2nd recipe for French Fries adds so many extra steps to a simple recipe for no reason that I can detect. It starts out like most Air Fryer recipes for fries, with soaking potatoes. It does give a handy short cut to use hot water for 10 minutes instead of cold for 30. But then it has you alternate between cooking the fries and retossing them with oil in a bowl 7 times! Yikes! That’s 7 times you are supposed to place fries in bowl, toss with oil, remove from bowl and place in basket and cook 5 to 10 (depending on which step you’re at) minutes, remove, toss again and repeat again and again. Really? I did it... and all I got in return were average tasting baked fries... no crispier than other methods. And then there’s the little detail that is omitted from every recipe... what setting is being called for. It does not tell you whether setting should be at “bake” or “air fry”. It simply gives a temperature and leaves you to guess. Do I recommend? Definitely not for a new cook. And definitely not for a gift. The recipient will be cursing you the whole time s/he’s cooking. ... show more

  • Nutritional Information Not Useable In Kindle Format - High Calorie Recipes
I had anticipated the release of this title for some months, and was glad when it finally became available for purchase. Like all ATK cookbooks, I'm sure that the print version is attractive and easier to use. But the Kindle version still is as difficult to use as previous titles—although getting better. Some of the recipes in this book seem enticing. But, although the book contains nutritional information, it is buried in tables in the back of the book rather than appearing with each recipe as is an industry standard. Having to refer to tables in the back of the book would be a bit of a burden in the printed version; but in the Kindle version, the tables are almost useless. Why? First, the tables are actually graphic images, and they don't scale up with the text; the text is too small to read. Second, the table header for the columns is presented on the first page of the table but not repeated on subsequent pages. Third, the layout of the nutrients across the table is not that which is a typical standard. The format is: Calories, Total Fat, Saturated Fat, Cholesterol, Carbohydrates, Total Sugars, Added Sugars, Protein, Fiber, Sodium. That layout might not seem like a big deal, but when one is used to nutritional labels that group together Fat and Sat Fat; sodium, cholesterol; carbs, fiber, sugars; and protein, and without a header on each page of the table, it is extremely difficult to understand a recipe's nutritional components. Finally, the recipes for actual dishes, as opposed to sauces, are rather high in calories (500 calories and well above per serving). Looking at ingredient lists for some of the recipes, it is difficult to get a sense of how a list of simple ingredients gets turned into such high-calorie finished dishes. I returned this book to the Kindle store for a refund. ... show more
