This loom is not typical in that it is not split along the length, therefore you quite literally have to insert your wiring in one end, and inch it through the length. For a typical (single) rca cable like mine, that was a long and tedious task. You can't just pull it through, it constricts down and won't happen (like a Chinese finger trap). Rather, you have to push the loom together to make it fat, and inch the cable through the fat part, slide down the loom thee inch of two you bunched up, and repeat. I needed a 30 ft run, it probably took me 30-40min to do this. I would NOT recommend for long runs or wiring that is any larger than the rca jack. Otherwise, the finished product looks good and feels durable enough, just a real PITA to do. ... show more

Have used it yet. I have many years of wiring experience in my machine building career. I purchased this product to rewire antique farm tractors. There are no wire mounting points on them and I will be adding them and this jacket will secure multi wires in one run. I see there are people who say the jacket will fray on ends, I will try shrink tube and report back. ... show more

I can’t see how this would deter cats from chewing on cords. It’s mesh, so the cat’s teeth will go right through it. We’ll see. I put it on my phone charging cords, which is mostly what my car goes for. It’s hard to work with though. When you cut it, it will tend to gray, so I wrapped each end with electrical tape. Not the best solution. I also wanted to use it for my laptop power cord, but can’t get it past the L connection. ... show more

    • Not so easy to apply
Used this for protecting electrical cords from cats. I thought it would be easier to put on the cords, but b of the head of the cord is too big, it won't fit. When you cut to size, the sheath will come undone and you'll need to use something to keep it from falling apart. I used hot glue and extreme tape. This keeps the cats from biting cords, but putting it on, makes it too much of a hassle to make it worth it. ... show more

I used the cable sleeve on an old tractor to protect the new wiring that I replaced. It looks good and not that hard to run the wires through the sleeve. I would buy the item again.

    • Doesn't shrink well
Does not shrink well. It's liable to melt under high heat like a lighter or torch. If you have a heat gun I recommend using it on a low setting and going up from there within reason.
