Bought this for my tween daughter and she's obsessed, wears it 2-3 times a week in lieu of a coat. It's a lighter weight material, soft, not like typical sweatshirt material. It hasn't pilled after 2 months of wear, feels very high quality, embroidery is clean with no loose threads. It keeps her warm but isn't too hot. The embroidered star is a velvet material which I wasn't expecting but is a nice bonus that gives it an additional higher end quality. The fit is true to size; daughter is normally a large but we sized up to an XL for an oversized fit.
