The media could not be loaded. I originally left a 1 star review because I purchased 2 frames that didn’t work. Aecojoy walked me through the process, hopefully it helps others with the problem. Hold down M until_ _ _ _ appears, hold 1 and 3 simultaneously and L1 will appear. They worked perfectly afterwards. I chose this model based on price, and the ability to lift a heavy top. I have a 30" x 72" x 1.75" birch butcher block top (90 lbs), a 55" curved monitor (with stand, 52 lbs), and a full tower computer and accessories (30 lbs), and this frame lifts it without even a stutter. I also mounted a 9 outlet power strip underneath, which is where the frame motor is plugged in. This is the second time I put a butcher block desk atop a motorized frame and, although it was a different frame, construction and assembly was essentially identical. Putting it together was straight forward, and can be done easily by one person, but two is always better (it's a little heavy). Kit comes with an allen wrench for assembly, but if you are going to attach a wooden top, I recommend a drill so you don't split the wood. The legs have levelers (mine is half on carpet, so that was nice). At the lowest setting, the frame is 27.5" high (my preferred setting). Fully raised, it is 46" which is beyond where I would need when standing (I'm 5'10"). I would definitely recommend this frame if you are looking to make a really nice desk. ... show more

My take on this desk is as follows… The desk arrived on time. The packaging was excellent. All the vital components were protected with foam packaging. The first thing I did was to lay all the larger pieces on the ground and the smaller pieces on a table. There were no missing pieces, and everything was in pristine condition, no blemishes. The installation instructions and user manual were included. To be honest, I think the installation instructions were a bit confusing. It would have been helpful to have labels on the parts. Orientation arrows would have been helpful. There were only labels on the screws. There was a plastic fitting that attaches to the nut of the center shaft. It is used to help secure the two halves together. This was not stated in the installation manual. It took about two hours to assemble. I paired this frame with an Alera Reversible Laminate Table Top, with the dimensions, 59.375” x 29.5”. It fit like a glove. The table top did not come pre-drilled, so I had to measure and mark the holes before securing it to the frame with the provided 6 screws. Connecting the electronics was straight forward. I used the provided screws to install the control panel (switch) on the right side of the table top. I really like the way the buttons look and its subtle but satisfying tactile feel to them. The display letters are white. I prefer that over other tables that use red letters. There are up and down arrows, four presets, and a memory ‘M’ button. Operating the table is a no brainer. It worked flawless from the first time I used it. I did not get any error messages. Setting the presets are very simple. You use the up or down arrows to set the height, press the ‘M’ button and then press one preset button (1, 2, 3, or 4) and you’re good to go. I did experience an overheating warning message. It occurred when I was installing hardware underneath the table. I was raising and lowering the table in a short period of time and that’s when it happened. I had to cycle the power to bypass the thermal shut down status. To be honest, I don’t anticipate this to be a problem for me, as I will adjust the height upwards of 10 minutes at a time during normal use. The merchant claims the table raises at 1” per second. It’s a bit slower than most other tables (at 1.5”). It takes about 15 seconds for the table to raise and lower to my preferred heights. It’s acceptable to me. It is rated at 265 lbs. load capacity. This is fantastic, since the table uses a single motor, where others use two motors and have a lower load capacity. My theory is that the table uses higher torque at the expense of speed to meet these specs. The legs are telescoping with only two interconnecting legs per side. It looks very clean. One of its defining characteristics is that it is very stable. It hardly budges. It really does feel rock solid. I did notice that it has a very subtle wobble when lowering to the minimum height. Time will tell if the lifting mechanism holds up. The adjustable feet made it easy to level the table. For the price I paid, I am very satisfied with the quality of this table. If you don’t mind spending the time to assemble it, I would recommend it to anyone. ... show more

    • Worth Your Time and Money
Pros: + Really quality for the money, and has some heft to it! It's very sturdy, stable, and feels robust + The desk punches above it's weight class, literally - it has a higher weight limit than a lot of other desks at this price point + It gets a lot of compliments on its looks + Costs the same as a particle board piece of junk from the store + I can stand up while I work! Cons: - My only complaint is the descending issue that other reviewers have mentioned. Mine worked itself out once I had some decent weight to put on the desk's surface, although there seems to be an official fix someone posted here in the reviews! I haven't had the need to try that, but either way the frame is still worth your time. Overall: = It's a great desk, it does everything my $800+ Workrite Fundamentals EX 2-Leg Desk does at the office, but looks a lot better and cost about $320 after materials. Would've been cheaper too, if I hadn't needed to buy a second can of polyurethane, since I bought a color that was too light. Solid core door slabs make a great desktop, by the way. ;) Would buy again! ... show more

Instructions were very easy. screw package could have been a little better marked. It has been up and down like a yo yo (sorry cultural reference). All things aside I used a 3/4" handi panel on top with 1 coat of mission oak stain with 6 coats of helmsman to make the top. It has no problems so Far their is a silver shaft that runs under side make sure this nut I circled in my pictures is tight (use open end wrench) other wise this turns into a bad day fast. great build quality I am very happy and more productive. ... show more
