  • Good but a Flaw
I have some mixed feelings about this rake. On the one hand, I was really impressed with how lightweight it is, and the long, adjustable handle (you add or subtract lengths) is genuinely comfortable and makes it easy on my back, especially for reaching under shrubs. The assembly was also a breeze—I had it together and ready to go in about a minute, just as advertised. However, the main issue is the adjustable head. While the idea of changing the width is great for getting into tight spaces, the locking mechanism for the tines is simply not stable. The tines rotate much too easily, even after I think I have it locked in place with a simple twist. This is incredibly frustrating when you're trying to gather a decent pile of leaves or grass clippings. It seems to work well enough for very light debris, but for anything that requires a bit of pressure or pulling, the head becomes unstable and makes the job take twice as long. It has great potential, but this one design flaw keeps it from being a really good tool. ... show more

  • This is the garden tool I didn’t know I needed.
I originally ordered this Adjustable Leaf Rake for use in my yard (my old plastic rake cracked). The box its packed in by the manufacturer is not sturdy enough for shipping but Amazon shipped it in an envelope so the first one arrived crushed and damaged. I exchanged it and the replacement managed to survive the insufficient packaging that Amazon insisted on using. The rake is quite a bit smaller than I expected (even when fully the prongs are expanded), so I probably still need to get a full size one for the lawn. However, it turns out to be perfect for my garden! I have a weeding hoe that I use to loosen weeds but I still have to pick them up individually, without stepping on my or damaging my plants. This rake is ideal. I use it to pull the weeds out of the harder to reach places and to “sweep” them together for easier pickup. The adjustable prongs make it simple to narrow or widen the rake which allows it into tighter spots. I LOVE this feature. The rake comes with 4 poles that can be added or removed for height. I’m short so for the “long” length I only use 3 of the poles, but I also use just the handle directly attached for a short hand held rake too. The pole is sturdy but the prongs seem a little weaker. Since I’m mainly using it on the garden, that’s fine but it doesn’t seem like it would it would be strong enough (or large enough) for raking leaves from a lawn. Its very lightweight and comfortable to use. Overall, I love this rake! Its the garden tool I didn’t know I needed and I do recommend it for that use (or very small yards). ... show more

  • Poor Quality, Unusable Rake
I don't like to bash on products, especially when the product is inexpensive anyways, because you usually get what you pay for. But in this case, it's not even worth it's inexpensive price tag. This rake is basically unusable for me. The tines rotate out of place after one single pass in the dirt. Some of the tines turned sideways, so there's no raking action at that angle. And I only used it for a few minutes to test it out. I imagine if I really used it for hard work, it you have collapsed on me. If they could somehow fix the tines from rotating out of place, then this rake would be decent for its price. They should also change the material of the plastic locking mechanism, because it is sure to break within a short period of time. The rake comes in short pole lengths you have to assemble together to the height you desire. You can see from the pictures I uploaded; they give you enough length to build a pole tall enough for an eight-foot man. So that's one positive, if you're eight foot tall at least. And the pole lengths are pretty sturdy as well. I rated this adjustable rake 1 Star because it fails at its only job, which is raking. If the tines are all sideways, how can someone rake with it? It's not possible. But the pole is sturdy, for a pole that comes in multiple lengths that are assembled together. I do not recommend this rake whatsoever. As I mentioned before, it's not even worth it's low price point. ... show more

  • Great tool with very cool adjustability
Requires a small amount of assembly, it comes in a few pieces that are easy to put together. I picked this rake because I was tired of using two separate tools for flower beds and open lawn areas. This design solves that problem with a head that expands and contracts quickly. When fully narrowed, I was able to get between shrubs and tight spots without disturbing plants. Fully expanded, it clears leaves from the lawn much faster than my old fixed-width rake. The locking mechanism is intuitive and holds securely once adjusted. The handle is lightweight, which makes it easy to maneuver, and the length helps prevent back strain during long sessions. I’m about 5'3", and it felt comfortable to use at its full extension without needing to hunch over. Assembly took less than a minute—just screw the sections together and you’re ready to go. The only reason I didn’t give this five stars is that the rake head feels a little flexible when it’s opened to the widest setting. It’s fine for dry leaves and light debris, but for heavier, wet piles you may need to go slower or use a sturdier rake. That said, for day-to-day yard maintenance, it’s been an excellent addition to my garden tools. If you need something compact to store that can handle both small and large spaces, this is worth a look. ... show more
