The bane of cheap adjustable dumbbells is the amount of time it takes to get them secured and how a lot of the time they still feel loose when you do. The brilliant design on these- having a set pathway for the weights to slide onto that keeps them from spinning so they can only come out from the exact correct orientation, and the actual locking mechanism being a rotating disc- makes them very quick and painless to change weights on, the next best thing to those several-hundred-dollar sets that handle all the weight changes automatically but that I can't justify buying. They also have the capability to join at the center with another provided bar to turn into a barbell; that one takes a lot longer to do (a lot more screwing/unscrewing to make the change), but the space-saving implications of it make me feel better about it at least! These are all around a great bang for your buck between how well it works and how much cheaper it would be than buying every single weight combination as a separate single-piece dumbbell; 20 pound dumbbell sets cost like $40 by themselves, ya know? Also a great space saver. I also like how there's the possibility with these to do small increments of weight so that you can slowly push your body without having to quite as big of jumps. Really excited by these all around!

I got the 35 pound set, which included 8 2.75 lb and 4 3.3 lb weight plates as well as 2 standard size dumbell bars and a surprisingly thick bar connector with several weight nuts to secure the weights into the bars. There was a ton of value in this set considering the price was only slightly higher than I've seen for rather ordinary weight sets elsewhere. Yes, it lacks a stand, and yes, it takes some effort to organize this set, but it looks great, feels great, and sits on the ground nicely - thanks to being square-shaped. There are some QOL improvements I'd like to see: 1. Include a weight stand or sell it separately to help store the weights. The stand should support 2x the product's weight amount in case we want to buy more later. 2. Include a version of the set that includes 4+ of every weight plate. I noticed the biggest set only has the biggest weight plate, so even the most expensive set doesn't include everything. 3. Lose the exercise guide pamphlet. It's useless and a waste of material. 4. Consider adding more dumbell bars to every set so we can have a dedicated big weight combo and still have small ones ready to go instead of having to swap them out over and over. Alternatively, sell the bars separately for a modest price and I'd likely buy 2 of them.

I still haven't figured out the "connector" but I'm fine with just the hand weight dumbbells and the ability to increase/reduce the weight easily. This adjustable weight set can be used as two separate dumbbells or as a single barbell. There is a connector piece and fixed nut screws that make the transition between barbell to/from dumbbells pretty easy. This set is effective for strength training workouts and generally good quality given the value.

I’m impressed with this simple weight system design. It offers a lot of options over regular dumbbells, including a bar bell connector. The square weights don’t roll around like round ones do. This system allows both my husband and I to use the same set just by adding or subtracting weights instead of having to buy a bunch of different size weights. It is a little bit of a pain to change the weights out but it’s doable. It’s still better than having several individual weights and trying to find a home for them. This is actually fairly compact. I also like that this comes with a 12-month limited warrant. Limited by the don’t do anything stupid clause. This is a great addition to a family home gym.

I ordered the 35 pound version of this weight set and I have been very happy with it. I have been using it as a long barbell to do curls and squats. When assembled, the bar is very stable and solid--I was a little concerned that this type of adjustable / convertible set would be flimsy feeling of end up feeling like it was going to fall apart but that it NOT the case. I really like the fact that this set is compatible with other round weight plates that I have which is great because I have been able to add another 15 pounds to the 35 using my other weights. In summary, I have been very happy with this product and I definitely do recommend it.
