  • Good quality, appealing design.
I got these weights to use when I broke my last set. These are much better quality than the last set I had, and I expect to use them for a long time. I only do light lifting with the set I keep at home. Just enough to keep me busy when I have a few spare moments. They won't get ridiculous use, so I expect them to last, as they are built tough. They are rubberized, so they don't make a bunch of noise. This is a plus, as I have had complaints with my last set due to the clanking sound as I did repetitions. These are silent. No noise at all. I like the octagon shape of the weights. It's not obvious or angular, just usable flat spots that keep the weights from rolling when you set them down. After using these weights for a couple days, I really appreciate this aspect. They stay where I put them. If there was one drawback, it's that I did not get full set of locking nuts. I was missing two of the smaller nuts and I didn't think it would be an issue at first. However, when I tried to adjust the weights on the bar, I realized I didn't have enough nuts. My only choice was to tighten the weight snugly up to the handle, making the grip small for my large hands. when I am using the dumbbells. The dumbbells are my primary use for the set, so it's slightly disappointing. The literature that comes with it promises four buts, but I only found two in the box. The bag they were in was tied shut, so they must have changed the number included without changing the literature. This is disappointing. I must constantly assemble and disassemble the weights as I change exercises. Four nuts was a better choice. There are six total, so as long as you don't mind assembling and disassembling the weights, you can do anything you need to and get that workout in. Still, I feel like I must take a star, as they clearly promised 8 nuts in the literature. Edit: changed my mind. I figured out a way to use them with no issue. ... show more

  • Decent beginners weight set
Overall, Deracy produced a decent weight set for someone either just getting into weight training or just needs a set of adjustable dumbbells. The weights slide on the bar nicely and I really like that they have a protective coating so they are quieter when they hit the floor. The bars seem to be sturdy and thick. The barbell pad is nice but I would have preferred to have the same grips that are on the dumbbells for grips on the barbell. With a total of 42 pounds, there isn't a lot of flexibility in configurations unless you are constantly swapping weights between the various bars. I found that the spin locks will occasionally loosen due to the swinging motion of the dumbbells. The kettlebell can't really be used with only one hand as the center bar that holds the weight plates comes too close to the handle (see picture). This is a good starter weight set for someone who isn't totally obsessed with packing on muscle but would like to be able to have a little flexibility with their equipment. ... show more

  • A smart way to wade into free weights
This 1-inch (non-Olympic) set is an inexpensive way to augment your home gym with a good variety of strength-building equipment, or to make the leap from resistance bands to free weights. You can deploy 12 plates of three different weights as a pair of dumbbells, a barbell, and/or a couple of kettlebells--though TBH it's not much of a kettlebell, difficult to get even one hand between the handles and the plates, and nearly impossible for two. So if you really want a kettlebell, I'd probably go find a legit kettlebell. But if what you want is a flexible set of free weights--and you're not quite ready to lift a 75-pound barbell--this is a good starter kit. (You can use the kettlebell handles to juice your pushups.) Assembly was easy, and the collars seem secure. The plastic weight plates are filled with sand and cement, and don't clank when you drop them on the floor. Keep in mind they're 1-inch plates, so not interchangeable with Olympic-size equipment. But if you're just wading into free weights, the versatility of this set makes for a versatile, self-contained, adjustable collection of home-gym hardware. ... show more

The variety these weights offer is amazing! Making a dumbbell, Barbell, or even a Kettle Ball is very easy and quick to do. The weights seem to be made with great quality. It comes with a bag and everything comes apart easy to make it portable. I highly recommend this.

  • Flexible But Flawed
Pros: Versatility: This set offers a variety of functions in one package, including dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, and a push-up bar. Great for space-saving home workouts. Cons: Awkward Kettlebell Conversion: The process of converting dumbbells to kettlebells is clunky. The weight sits off-center and the handle becomes bulky due to excess threading. Functionality remains, but the design feels awkward compared to a traditional kettlebell. Unconventional Barbell Setup: Assembling the barbell involves connecting two dumbbell handles with a padded extender. This might not feel as sturdy as a dedicated barbell, and the weight capacity might be limiting for serious lifters. Limited Weight for Advanced Users: This set might not be ideal for those seeking heavy weights. It's better suited for beginners or lighter workouts. Overall: The DERACY 6-in-1 set offers a space-saving solution for home workouts with its multifunctionality. However, the awkward kettlebell conversion and unconventional barbell setup sacrifice some form and weight capacity. If you prioritize a traditional feel and heavier weights, this might not be the best choice. But, for beginners or those looking for a versatile lightweight set, it could be a decent option. ... show more
