I installed these on a Sleep Number bed, replacing the 6in OEM legs (they use a 8mm threaded mounting stud). The outer casing of the new leg is made of metal and is threaded on the inside with a screw in heavy gauge plastic leg. The top of the casing has a 8mm stud that will screw into the OEM frame mount without using the 10mm conversion sleeve (also included). The adjustable leg portion also has a length gauge to ensure you get them all the same length. Make sure you adjust the legs before installation - trying to do so later is a tough job. In fact, you'll spend more time lifting up the frame than you will installing these legs! Very happy with these; they're stable, a great value over the OEM and easy to install (once you lift the frame) ...another satisfied customer. ... show more

As well the legs adjusts in height to suit the best needed for the user. The materials are of a strong tension plastic that is deceiving as maybe not being strong enough, but it is! Since I'm working on expanding my desk, being into DIY, finding these was a blessing. It's good to know that they can hold a great deal of weight, but I don't see any portion of my desk needing to support 2,000 lb. Just the same, it is very nice to know that whatever part I use these for will not be at risk of collapsing if I lean on it a little bit. Installation is easy: just drill a hole and screw them in, honestly, but make certain you drill the right size hole, or things get chaotic very quickly. For the two being used for a raised portion of my desk, these have proven to be quite sturdy, even with my cat jumping up on it, and the fact that I can adjust these to the point where I can use two for one thing and two for something entirely different, I absolutely love. There's no other way to word that. The only reason it's not at five stars is due to the lack of additional bracing for stability where they connect. I have another set of legs that I purchased, but unlike these, they have a triangle at the top with supports, making them far more stable and less prone to any issues if they have to deal with side-to-side motion. I'm not sure how these would deal with side to side motion because it hasn't occurred, but I we'll be putting a flat metal plate between them and the surface I'm screwing them to because I'm pretty sure that will offset the problem, at least to some extent. Even with that mild flaw, I would definitely recommend these if you just need some relatively inexpensive legs for a DIY project, or to replace damaged ones on your bed. ... show more
