The Adidas Dame X are Damian Lillard's latest collaboration basketball shoes. First, these shoes are sold at a slightly lower price point than the previous Dame 9's, making them a good value for those not wishing to spend over $100 on shoes. I ordered these for my son who wears a men's size 10, and they fit true to size. We normally size down a half size in Adidas but with these we didn't need to. The shoe does have a slight narrow on the lateral side of the toe box. The shoes need a break-in period. On an indoor court they offer a nice grip due to the way the tread is, it's almost like a series of tiny nubs. They are not very squeaky on the indoor court, so if you like a shoe with a good squeak these may not check that box for you. On an outdoor court I'm slightly concerned the traction will begin to wear faster because of the design. The shoes are well cushioned, with an ortholite Insole over foam. The heel features a slight curve and good cushioning. Overall these shoes feel a bit on the bulky side and don't offer the level of flexibility as some others might. The tongue is lightly padded but almost too short. The ankle collar is extremely plush, this may be a positive or negative depending on your personal taste. The overall cushioning is great, and the wide forefoot does offer pretty good lateral stability. The quality is above average with the exception of the 3d plastic striped area which is glued on. The rest of the shoe upper is mesh making them pretty breathable. For the price, I think this shoe is a good value, depending on if the caveats I've listed align with your personal taste. I've given a generous 4 stars. It's a solid shoe with some minor issues.

*EDIT* Upon further review, I am bumping these up to five stars. Yes, there is one spot on the outside of one of my feet that rubs a little and gets uncomfortable, but I really do think this is a "me" problem with my excessively wide feet, and not a problem with the shoe. That one spot notwithstanding, they're comfortable enough right out of the box to play in for a couple hours straight. *ORIGINAL* First of all, I ordered these the day before it was announced that Dame Time is returning to Portland. As a Blazer fan, I could not have been more excited. As for the shoes - they have a bit of a bulky look to them, but they feel pretty lightweight. They're comfortable, fitting maybe a little tighter than I'm used to. My biggest issue is that I have very wide feet, and the shoe is more narrow in the forefoot than I would prefer, with a seam on the outside of the foot that rubs uncomfortably for me. Another reviewer noted that they need to be broken in, and my hope is this will resolve that for me. It's really my only complaint - otherwise they have good traction, they feel very well made, they look great, and they're Dames. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could; I just can't quite give 5 stars at this price point when they're not 100% comfortable right out of the box.

These shoes look like the photos and are a very simple design. They fit nicely and are comfortable to wear. The quality seems good but I have not worn them out long-term so I cannot say how long they would last. Compared to other Adidas (I have owned dozens) they seem equivalent in quality. They look as expected from the photos. The main thing I didn't like about them is they are a little bit bulky looking on the feet, especially at the top where the black colour is. But if that is the look you like, it probably would not bother you. It's more of a style thing than anything else. Overall they feel like they have thick soles and decent arch/foot support. I believe these are an athlete's collab shoe but I'm not familiar with him so I don't know how special they are in that way. They do not look like overt "basketball" shoes to me (compared to some other basketball shoes you see). I like that they are plain black and white. They are not easy to bend or twist, from a podiatry perspective this is a good thing for support. Overall I think they are good but not great.
