First of all, I ordered these the day before it was announced that Dame Time is returning to Portland. As a Blazer fan, I could not have been more excited. As for the shoes - they have a bit of a bulky look to them, but they feel pretty lightweight. They're comfortable, fitting maybe a little tighter than I'm used to. My biggest issue is that I have very wide feet, and the shoe is more narrow in the forefoot than I would prefer, with a seam on the outside of the foot that rubs uncomfortably for me. Another reviewer noted that they need to be broken in, and my hope is this will resolve that for me. It's really my only complaint - otherwise they have good traction, they feel very well made, they look great, and they're Dames. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could; I just can't quite give 5 stars at this price point when they're not 100% comfortable right out of the box.

I usually prefer a lighter and thinner shoe like a Kyrie to keep my footspeed up but after getting older and hating how much my knees hurt, I finally gave into a shoe with more padding. I've tried Dames before and the last one (I don't recall which) just felt like it was a bit too much but this one feels like a better balance. These feel more secure with better cushioning without being sloppy like the old Dames felt to me. Can't attest to how well they'll hold up yet but the bottoms feel harder than usual so I imagine they'll probably withstand outdoor courts pretty well. Overall build quality seems good too, I wouldn't be surprised if they held up but I'll update if they don't.

The Adidas Dame X are Damian Lillard's latest collaboration basketball shoes. First, these shoes are sold at a slightly lower price point than the previous Dame 9's, making them a good value for those not wishing to spend over $100 on shoes. I ordered these for my son who wears a men's size 10, and they fit true to size. We normally size down a half size in Adidas but with these we didn't need to. The shoe does have a slight narrow on the lateral side of the toe box. The shoes need a break-in period. On an indoor court they offer a nice grip due to the way the tread is, it's almost like a series of tiny nubs. They are not very squeaky on the indoor court, so if you like a shoe with a good squeak these may not check that box for you. On an outdoor court I'm slightly concerned the traction will begin to wear faster because of the design. The shoes are well cushioned, with an ortholite Insole over foam. The heel features a slight curve and good cushioning. Overall these shoes feel a bit on the bulky side and don't offer the level of flexibility as some others might. The tongue is lightly padded but almost too short. The ankle collar is extremely plush, this may be a positive or negative depending on your personal taste. The overall cushioning is great, and the wide forefoot does offer pretty good lateral stability. The quality is above average with the exception of the 3d plastic striped area which is glued on. The rest of the shoe upper is mesh making them pretty breathable. For the price, I think this shoe is a good value, depending on if the caveats I've listed align with your personal taste. I've given a generous 4 stars. It's a solid shoe with some minor issues.

I've been using these shoes for about a week now and they've been great. Like many shoes, they were a bit tight and uncomfortable at first but after a week of usage, they have conformed to my feet and feel phenomenal. They're very stylish and the overall quality seems great. They give a little bit of bounce to your step which feels great and overall, I am extremely happy with them.

I got these shoes for my wife. She likes to walk long distances for exercise, and has, on a couple of occasions, stumbled on uneven sidewalks. She found these shoes to fit perfectly, and be extremely comfortable, sturdy, and supportive while walking. Her comment, after trying them was, "I wish I had had these back in the 60's when I played roving guard for my sorority." That sounded like a 5-star review to me.
