During a combination of trail and walking, the shoe vamp, front side and tip easily worn. Knicks eventually caused rip. This is after six months of using only for daily trips to trail and running paths with dog. Also required a couple weeks of breaking in. I made the mistake of wearing this out of the box for a week of church volunteer events and my feet hurt so bad. These are great trail shoes. Not sure they are great for trail running, but for hiking and walking they are very good. Built pretty tough with quality materials. Definitely not premium trail running shoes because of weight, design, and materials, but can't go wrong with them.
