I've never purchased a backpack online. I like to feel the backpack see the backpack see how it stitched that kind of thing before I make the purchase. I use backpacks regularly. My feet and the city bus are my main forms of transportation so I tend to carry a lot of things with me or need to carry a lot of things back home with me. I also like to have the clean appearance part of which is making sure the items I wear are well put together and coordinated. All of my backpacks were either black or a dark midnight blue which look like black. So I needed a functional lightweight yet sturdy article backpack that provided more options to compliment my attire. This backpack is lightweight. I feel like I have socks that weigh more than this backpack. Does that really matter though? Consider putting a 10 lb bowling ball in a lightweight backpack and putting it on. Then consider putting a 10 lb bowling ball in a regular weight backpack and putting it on. Do you really feel like you're going to notice the difference in the weight of the backpacks? Probably not. The lightweight material feels as though it would suffer from repeatedly being used to carry heavier type items that have corners. Granted that the seams that make up the outside structure of the backpack appear to be reinforced, however I found that even with reinforce themes the corners of heavier items will tend to wear and then breach the material itsef. I feel like it would give into the corners of heavy books, milk cartons, etc. I have avoided using it for said purposes and I believe that has contributed to the longevity of the item. If the main purpose of the backpack you are looking for is to be books especially multiple books at a time, please look for more sturdy backpack. The color is actually kind of a neutral color. I know the listing said blue and if you look for the blue you'll see it, however if you didn't know it was listed as blue you probably wouldn't see the blue. When I've asked others they say it's more of a light gray color some even offer there may be a tint of lavender in there. I was surprisingly pleased with the feedback of the various opinions of color. One of my main goals was to get a backpack that was versatile with a tire and having this backpack gives me many more options because it is so neutral in color. The capacity is not very large. You don't want to load it up with history and science books. In fact it would probably be best used as a gym backpack or something to carry a change of clothes perhaps maybe even the ticket with you on board the plane is a carry on. Once you get a pair of regular adult shoes in there there's not a whole lot of room for much else. The reinforcement of the seams mentioned earlier provides a consistent structure to the backpack and enables it to hold its shape very well. The way it is shaped in the picture on the listing is how it looks on your back. If the form of the backpack is important, I recommend spot cleaning by hand rather than machine washing. If you happen to be carrying a heavier item, use the white strap to come around from the back and buckle it in the front of your waist. It will provide extra support and take some of the load of that heavier item off of your back especially your lower back. I consider average to be a three-star rating, overall I find this backpack to be slightly above average. The reinforcement of the seams enabling consistent form is a plus, as is the unexpected neutrality of the color.
