I've been purchasing aden + anais muslin blankets for decades and these are my 'go to' blankets for the children in our program. They last for years, even decades with weekly washing. The quality far surpasses any blankets I've used. The printed patterns do fade over the years with weekly washing and use 5 days a week, but that fading usually happens after a couple years and is still discernable, just faded. I do not however use as a swaddling blanket, we use as a nap blanket for our 18mo/+ group of children. They love having their own printed design, which helps them identify their special blanket. I bought these as a gift but have also received aden+anais swaddle blankets as gifts myself. At first I didn't understand what the fuss was about b/c I really didn't use them to swaddle my baby and he was born in January so it was super cold out and these were too thin to use as a blanket. As a swaddle, I don't love them - they tend to be too stretchy and even though my husband was a far better swaddler then me, our son would break out of these really easily. But as an all purpose light blanket, they are great. They really are multi-purpose - used to cover my baby on a slightly chilly day, put down on the carpet so he can play, used to shield him from the sun when I am holding him and its really bright out. And of course they are super cute! I think its a great gift and having one set of four is probably worth the purchase. I haven't tried competitors brands that are probably cheaper, so they may do the job just as well! ... show more
