Got a cool idea for a project, but don't know coding? the circuit playground is great multi-purpose tool for anything relating to electronics. I taught my nephew how to code using MakeCode and even as an advanced user, I can use C++ or javascript to quickly program anything that might be useful. From cold temperature detector to a simon says game, the amount of sensors and LEDs built into this small package makes it an easy project starter for even 4th graders to understand.

I was introduced to the CPX in my engineering instrumentation class. I’ve learned so much with this little board already and I can’t wait to continue to learn. It’s fairly simple and straight forward, and it’s feature PACKED! It has everything you could possibly need to novice projects and crafts that require certain censors and some coding. Their are oodles of resources and databases to use to help with anything you desire to make. Definitely recommend this product if you’re looking to get into the world of building and coding some cool projects

i'm amazed at how much i've learned about microcontrollers, IOT, sensors, and python from this thing the lessons they have, the example programs, and the just the time adafruit has taken to make this approachable has even overcome my learning problems from recent significant brain damage from a medical accident.. plus it does all kinds of other neat stuff if you start combining things and grabbing bits of code from other sources and the adapting it when i'm not playing with it and trying out new code and ideas - it sits on my desk as my second roku remote in case i forget to grab the big one.. useful as well as fun and educational

This is an amazing starter project! Whether you're a seasoned programmer or you just want an easy project this will amaze you. Everyone I showed this to said they couldn't program because it was "too hard", but after writing a program in seconds they all said they wanted one too! The onboard sensors save you hours of working with wires and breadboards, the online IDE lets you load your program anywhere without installing it, and it can run on a USB or some AA batteries. This is the easiest programming I have ever seen and one of the most user-friendly designs I have ever used.

I am so thrilled with my playground express. It is well supported by Adafruit, and It truly is amazing how many goodies are crammed into this little package. It has three different ways to program it. One is a super easy visual interface that young children can use. It is very similar to scratch. It is also compatible with the Arduino IDE so it can be used for many published user projects. The third way to program it is circuit python. It shows up as a flash drive, and you can just save or copy files to it.. Adafruit has a circuit python example for it to turn off TVs. Just copy the files to it , and it becomes a Adafruit TV-B-Gone Kit - Universal v1.2. No additional hardware needed, just a power source. Adafruit has put a lot of effort into designing this product and it shows. They provide so many examples and tutorials. They also have good forums and great tech support to help you if you get stuck.

This is a great piece of electronics. Adafruit gets the award for most useful electronics. Fast processor speed and circuitpython is quick and easy. All in all you can't go wrong with any Adafruit product. This one stands out because of all the built in sensors and gadgets. A thermometer, microphone, dotstar pixels, speaker, the list of sensors is extensive. Cannot say enough how much fun this device has been.
