I still use an older TV with VGA input so this cable was just what I needed for my more modern GPU that lacks analog out (DVI-D port). I was previously using a DisplayPort to VGA adapter but with my current graphics card this prevented me from being able to access the BIOS and POST screen of my PC. I could only get picture after the OS loaded the drivers. This cable has resolved the issue. Side note: The cable I purchased was amz recertified. Despite some minor damage to the jacket and rather small gauge wires it's working fine. Luckily the damage didn't go past the grounded shielding. ... show more

I was working on fixing a computer stored in an un insulated garage for a year in New York weather. I ran the computer without its graphics card to see if it had onboard graphics with its hdmi port in the motherboard and the computer turned on and looked alright but nothing on the screen. I did not look at the graphics card before putting it in everything else was dirty but in good condition so I assumed just wiping down the card with a dry towel would do good but the card had multiple shorts in it’s capacitors and caught fire when using this cord to hook it up to my monitor.
