This is a really nice basic acrylic nail kit! I’ll be honest — I’m not the best with the traditional acrylic process, so I don’t actually use it the standard way. Instead, I use these powders with my dip nail system, and they work perfectly for that. The colors are such a pretty nude set, very wearable and elegant. My favorite way to use them, though, is with what I believe is called the “Russian technique.” That’s where you apply nail tips first, then a gel base coat, and dip the (uncured) nail into the acrylic powder before curing it. It creates a smooth acrylic-style base that you can then shape, finish with a gel top coat, or even add gel polish if you want extra color. I find this method so much easier and quicker — and the results honestly look like a salon-quality acrylic set. I mainly got this kit for the powders since I loved the color selection, but the extra tools are a nice bonus and will definitely come in handy for nail art. The nail forms are good quality- I would usually use those with poly gel, but ever since I started doing the Russian technique, that has become my go-to. In my pictures, I tried a mix of methods — two nails with the standard dip technique (using dip base and activator) and three with the Russian technique. The lighter nude shades look very similar in photos, but I think they’ll show more distinction on my actual nails. ( My swatch was sloppily done just to see if it would work as I expected, and it did.) Everything in the kit works great and feels like good quality. I didn’t use it in the classic acrylic way, but I have no doubt it performs well for that too. The monomer does have a smell, but it’s not nearly as strong as some others I’ve tried. Overall, a great set for both beginners and anyone who likes experimenting with different nail techniques!
