I set this desk up in my home studio, and loved the way it looked and all of the rack space, the top shelf is great for 4 speakers(monitors) and a 42" PC monitor. The assembly was very easy and it only took me just over an hour to assemble, the desk is very sturdy and will support a lot of gear. The top slide out tray is great for a laptop or notebook, I'm using it for a drum sequencer it fits great. The wire management system is also great and allows you to set up everything very clean if you take the time to do it correctly. The reason I did not rate this a 5 is because of the keyboard tray. It's very low I'm 6' tall and when I installed it my knees where slightly above the tray, even adjusting my chair to the lowest setting my knees still hit the tray. The rails that were provided have mounting brackets already installed on them and they are to small (maybe 1-1/2 inches high) I had to modify the tray by installing my own brackets which were 5 inches high. With the taller brackets I can raise my chair more but still not as high as I like (but comfortable) because you have to leave room for the keyboard to fit on top my Keyboard is only 3" high So a bigger person and keyboard will have some struggles getting the tray at a workable height.. In order to push your chair in when you're not using the desk you will need a chair with adjustable arms and it will still be a very tight fit. Starting with the one downside - shipping... the box was falling apart, held together with tape obviously stuck on from the shipping crews to keep items from falling out. A sturdier box and packing would be a big plus. Upside is that it's perfect for anyone wanting all the elements you'd want in a home studio desk - the main desk space is large as is the shelf (by the way, the middle space is also 19" wide like the two side rack spaces); everything is sturdy and well made, easy to put together with a helper. Another positive is you don't need rack screws because they are supplied as well (about 100 or so). Worth the $540 tag by far. Side note: we didn't use the keyboard shelf because we prefer the leg room. ... show more

Product arrived with several damaged parts. However, the included instruction booklet does not include a phone number or website address to contact the manufacturer for replacement parts. And of course, the product is too big to tear down and ship back for a refund. While it is fairly easy to assemble, the use of extremely flimsy material, and hardware that is a complete joke make this item basically useless. The slide out portion is not wide enough for any keyboard with 88 keys, and doubtful the flimsy, cheap hardware is actually going to support the weight of the keyboard that this was purchased for. The bottom rack rails are a full 9U but for some reason they cut the top rails at 5U with an additional, roughly 2/3 of a single unit. This area is useless. They should have either lowered the top speaker shelves and made the rack rails just a full 5U, or make the upper areas an extra 1/2" to 3/4" taller to fit full 6U rack rails in. This product is poorly designed, poorly manufactured, uses flimsy material, and even flimsier hardware. It arrived with several damaged parts, and because the stick on, fake wood adhesive paper is not properly installed on the desktop, it looks awful. Just an update, and to add insult to injury, two of the short rack rails are drilled improperly which makes it impossible to mount any rack equipment on them. My son has been looking for a nice sturdy desk that would have a lot of room to fit all of his speakers and various audio equipment. For the price, this one offered the most surface space and storage. As others have mentioned in their reviews, the pull out keyboard shelf does sit quite low and he’s a big guy at over 6 feet tall, but we have been able to make it work by changing the size of the brackets and it has been a great purchase. That was our only issue with the desk. It looks modern and the materials are sturdy so we expect to get years of use out of this. Just make sure you measure how low the bottom pull out Keyboard type tray will set before you purchase to make sure it will meet your needs. ... show more

Nice desk I'd give a great review for except I had a part (desktop slider) where I got 2 right side slider bars instead of a left and right. I tried to get a replacement but never heard back. Hopefully if you get a correct desk/kit it would be a really nice looking desk. I'd give em 4 starts across of they would only replace one of the rights with a left. ... show more
