I really dislike when people give a review of an item before they even use it, but I made the mistake of not researching enough and had to place another order for the hdmi to vga convertor with the audio output and an audio cable to connect my laptop to it. Once I get it all connected, I'll update. Edit * I realized what I really want is a tv with speakers and hdmi. This monitor was really grainy and blurry if you didn't look at it straight on. I love this monitor! I never even thought of buying a separate monitor to use with my laptop until my screen cracked a couple of months ago, and was no longer functional. I frantically searched google for ways to salvage the laptop or ways to retrieve all of my vital information and documents without having to pay a ton of money. That's when I discovered the external monitor. Needless to say, Amazon was the first place I looked, and they did not disappoint. I found/purchased this one at a great price. It arrived quickly, was well packaged, worked well and was easy to set up and use. And I am not the least bit tech savvy. Note: Mine did come with the VGA cord included. Great picture quality. Not great. But it is a cheap monitor. I guess you do get what you pay for. The viewing angle is poor. If you are slightly off angle, all the colors look funny. It's hard to make the screen look good, even with adjusting the brightness and such. All in all, unimpressive.

I use this on a small desktop. Nice crisp, clean picture with no dead pixels. For a small monitor the wide screen makes it very easy to see and work with. Very thin and light weight. I am very happy with the purchase. I don't think I could have done better.

I received this computer monitor in the mail today and set it up with ease. After a few calibration settings through windows the display is great. At first the brightness and gamma were a little too high but as I said if you use windows settings it'll fix it right up. The size isn't huge, so if you want bigger I'd suggest something else but it is bigger than my laptop screen. Easy to read which I love because my college courses are online and a lot of the material is accessed through reading on the computer. You can tilt the monitor as needed depending on your needs, and the stand doesn't take up a lot of room if you need the desk space. Basically this is a good monitor for the money and great for any basic PC needs. I am sure it also works well for gaming (unless you want something bigger).
