It took us forever to get this thing to fly right! We had various members of the family with various expertise that should have been able to get this to work out and it still took us a while. We were really worried we were going to break it before we got it under control but it is durably made and did not break! Some of the younger members got bored of trying before they mastered it and after one person figured it out they were able to explain it a little bit better to the other people. I guess the directions were just difficult to understand and put into action at the same time. But it may just be our family because granted this was our first drone though we have used other RC kind of things. ... show more

Once paired, flying the drone becomes fairly straightforward, and users can quickly learn to operate it. In the default mode, the lights on the drone indicate the maneuver being performed, serving as a visual clue for learning to fly. There are also a few other lighting modes available. I tried to get a video but its hard trying to control a camera and a drone at the same time. This thing is cool. Although i only played with it on slow, it was pretty fast. Its very easy to control and is pretty stable while hovering to a degree. It's actually one of the better "cheap" drones I have had over the years. I love the body design. It really tries hard to protect the blades and can take a pretty good bump or 2. I flew it around the house some to try and figure it out before i give it to the grandboy. My husband had fun trying to figure out how to work this for the grandchildren. He said the steering is kind of hard, so he thinks the little ones will struggle with it too. I think, however, they will have a blast figuring it out together. The light show will definitely keep their attention.

    • Fun little drone for young kids
I really expected this to be a useless toy, but pleasantly surprised. It actually works! Small and easy to use. The automatic fly, hover and land button is very very helpful. Push one button, and the drone flies up about 5 feet into the air and hovers. Then the kids can just experiment with the controls moving it around. When they want to stop, push the same button to have it land gently. Works well for young kids, and comes with everything you need. Including 2 rechargeable batteries. We ran it for a constant 15 minutes on the 1st battery and the drone was still going strong. ... show more
