I ordered this set December 2020. I am just now ready to order my next set! This is my second set of ABH extensions, the first I purchased in #60 and they lasted months as well. I wanted to go darker,I had been platinum for years so I got the 20 inch in #12 and colored them to match my hair. I move them up every 6 to 8 weeks, only wash 1 to 2 times a week, and I use oil on my ends between washes and heat protectant when I use heat on them. I trim them every time I move them up so now they're around 16 inches but I've been using them for almost a year and they're still soft and natural looking. I've ordered several different brands but I have been most impressed with ABH. I've learned you just have to take care of them, condition them, and I sleep in braids to help keep them soft. I do replace the tape with a tape made for fine/thin hair before I put them in, I had a really bad experience with tape the first time and lost a lot of hair so I just get better quality tape that I know won't damage my hair. I have been very impressed with these and I always get compliments about how good and natural they look! Maybe it depends on what climate you live in. I live in South Florida. But I got these to try to save money on expensive ones with the holidays coming up. However, they are 100% the worst extensions and hair I have ever purchased in my years of getting extensions. They come nice and silky and feel and look amazing, until they are washed. They get so dried out they frizz and stick and matte constantly. I will brush my hair out and within no time matted again. I have tried so many deep conditioners , and various oils at this point to try to keep it hydrated or not stick together and all have failed. I just got out of the shower after washing and letting a conditioner sit for 15 mins to try to help, and I can’t even get a brush through. I constantly have no choice now but to wear my hair in a braid to keep them from sticking, matting or looking horrible. I am out 2 packs worth of $$ now too and I’ve only had them in two weeks. I keep hoping they get better but now they are getting worse. Save yourself the misfortune of buying these. If they have good reviews from people I’d love to know where they live or if they’ve washed the hair. If I can save someone the wasted money I hope this helps. Update 5/21/21: Sooo... I’ve purchased 3 different brands of hair on amazon previously... and in my case, 4th time was the charm. This hair is far superior than the rest. I used Chi Shine Shades in Crimson Red and used color generator 10vol AND both their Infra Red shampoo and the Color Lock—I couldn’t be more pleased with how the hair took the boost of red that was needed. And it’s healthy. I’ve fallen asleep multiple times without braiding it before bed and I’ve woken to zero snarls. No breakage... no shedding... jus silky smooth easy to manage hair. I stand correct, the tapes are amazing! Will def purchase again esp knowing I can color without doing any damage whatsoever - but will stick with the Chi brand. Initial review: The quality of hair appears and feels to be good and healthy. I haven’t yet installed but the bands of tape seem promising and I imagine will hold up for multiple uses/retaping without the bond weakening and breaking apart. Overall I am satisfied... but do need to dye it. I just hope by doing so, I don’t damage the hair and shorten its lifespan. I included a picture showing red hair purchased from a different company which i have installed atm, and of one piece which is significantly lighter, that is from the pack of hair which is under review. IMO, this is not red at all. And the picture/lighting makes it look even more red than it actually is. This hair is a rosey pink...A really pinkish rose gold color. The hair has an impressive amount of dimension which is created by lighter, blondish/goldenish strands mixed in with the “red” strands.... it’s very beautiful actually and super noticeable in sunlight. Whats strange is I had been considering a change since my old hair is ready for retirement, and have been really tempted by rose gold. But i decided to stick with red as I’m still traumatized by my last experience with lightening my hair when I fell asleep by accident, which resulted in a chemical cut. So sad. So my hair is at chin length now, is growing fast, and is supah healthy. I’ve only been using semi perm red on it which creates a beautiful transition of real hair in a darker red into the extensions, which are a very rich and deep red. Ladies, ALWAYS set a timer when lightening your hair. Always. So anyway, this color discrepancy has created a slight dilema for me. Do I color match with the red Ive been maintaining and have dye for on hand.... or do i bite the bullet, lift and lighten my roots and go rose gold!? Ahhhhhh, halp!! Final decision: sticking with the red for now. If/when I go rose gold, i don’t want it to be as pink as these extensions are. Ill add that in regular light, as a bunch, the pieces are a salmon color. This hair is amazing. This review is after 2 weeks of wearing. I’ve been wearing hair extensions for a few years now. Wefts, micro beads etc… I’ve tried them all and only bough the expensive stuff, usually paying about 2000 for the hair and then having to pay for the install and maintenance every 6 weeks give or take and it got expensive. I figured I’d try tape ins b cause this price was good. Glad I did it was very easy to install my 16 year old daughter actually put it on for me. It’s lasted this far with no issues the quality of the hair is amazing it does not shed one bit!!!!!! Which I was afraid of. But it , it’s so worth it.
