This cue outperformed my expectations by a large margin! Very straight break cue with TONS of power. I had to tone down my break stroke because it hits so solidly. As a jump cue it performs well with very little deflection.

This is the best breaking cue I have ever used. The hard tip helped make a better break. The stick is well balanced and straight. I like the fact I can make it shorted to use as a jump stick. The only thing I would like to see is both joints are the same pitch and thread.

I decided to quit relying upon house sticks for making my billiard breaks, as I was forced to use a different stick each time, with different tips, curved sticks, and a multitude of weights. To standardize my break, I bought this stick in the heaviest allowable according to the rule book. Mine is 25 ounces and pushes a ton of energy through the cue ball. The break sounds like lightning and my ball spread is much improved. Sinking a ball on the break has improved as well, as I move them all over the field of play. The grip feels very nice. I was skeptical about buying a dedicated break stick, but am very happy that I did. It is well made, very straight, and can be broken down to make a jump stick. It comes with plastic tips to protect the threads, which is nice to have. If you want a thunder stick, but don't want to hand over your retirement check to get it, then this is the one for you.

AB Earth 3-piece break/jump cue, 25 oz For $68 I was anticipating something less but the cue I received seems very well made. The finish is smooth and dare I say flawless, the joints fit well, feel solid and if there is any warp to the shaft I can't see it ... looks 'arrow straight' to me. The wrap seems secure and the cue weighed in at 24.69 ounces ... close enough to 25 for my thinking. After roughing it a bit the phenolic tip holds chalk just fine and the cue plays as one might expect. Overall, I'd call this purchase *excellent value*!

After one season of two simultaneous leages, I have to say, this cue is awesome. I can jump a regulation jump shot with this, it is more difficult, than with a standalone jumper, but it works. Breaking with this cue, is awesome. I dont feel the need to buy an expensive breaking stick, this serves its purpose, and well. The sound is loud. You'll get used to it. Excellent value for money, no issues with it at all. The comfort of the cue is fine for breaking, no issues.

I bought this for my wife at 25oz for a heavy break because she has back issues and can't throw in to her break. I tried it myself testing it against my high end equipment and I was pretty surprised at how well it hit for a bottom of the line cue. It wasn't as butt heavy as I thought it would be, and the maple is very hard cured on the shaft, this AB Earth cue has a Piku phenolic break tip on it that hits hard. Although it's a 13mm tip instead of the usual 14mm on a break shaft. Also the taper is gradual and to thin for it to hit like one of my high end cues. All in all for this low price tag great deal, It is a break cue for entry level to the moderately skilled players that play in leagues.
