I purchased this oil many, many years ago when I was in culinary school and absolutely fell in love with it! It’s a very light olive oil with a bit of a florally, slightly citrusy finish. It has a nice, smooth, ultra light mouth feel. I use it to make absolutely fantastic pesto, mixed with a good balsamic vinegar for dipping bread, dressings and a lovely marinade for salmon. A L'Olivier Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the best, smooth, tasty and healthy. Use on your next Ceasar's Salad and I think you will be pleased. One complaint it distribution cap when can approaches empty. Solution is simple. Use an old fashion can opener to pierce top and pour over into proper glass container making sure to avoid any metal spurs if they result from the can opener. ... show more

I agree with (almost) all other reviewers about the quality of this olive oil - that's not the issue. Last February 9th I bought one of these "Unique Mini Drum, 25.3 oz" for $22.09. As of today (7 Sep15) its prices has risen by More than an Order of Magnitude - a bit steep, IMHO... Is the current *sole supplier* really serious? Does s/he charter an Alitalia flight to import it? Or (more likely) s/he actually cannot obtain the product and doesn't want to admit the fact. There must be a back story here... ... show more

The oil mini drum is about the height of a standard can of beer so it is expensive in comparison to other brands, The lemon infusion is minimal so I add lemon pepper to it to enhance the citrus flavor. Overall I prefer the olive green can of olive oil that L'Olivier sells to this one. Enjoy.

    • difficult packaging
IMPOSSIBLE to pour from this spout and can. The olive oil runs down the spout and onto the top of the can as soon as you stop pouring. Had to put it in another container to make it useful without being frustrated.

This olive oil is amazing. I use it on many different foods, grilling fish, tomato/basil/mozzarella salad, and any recipes calling for extra virgin olive oil. In my travels abroad, the chefs I have spoken to have said how important it is to use really great olive oil and I definitely can taste the difference. As the can gets lower, I order immediately!
