I'm 5'5" and 225lbs and I ordered the XL in white. It's light and stretchy and isn't see through. It's a slim fit and hits mid-hip. You might want to size up if you are going to wear a shirt underneath but I am just going to wear it by itself. The buttons are sturdy and it stay closed. I'm changing my review. When I first opened it, it seemed different than prior ones I received. It was shiny and seemed thinner. Once it was washed, the shine came off and seemed more like the original sweaters I had bought. It's one of my favorite sweaters.
