I always test the battery chargers and power supplies to see if they can provide their rated specs. This one has a 96.6V rating for certain lithium ion battery packs. The problem is, it can’t even reach it. It also has a 5A rating, that it also falls short hitting. The max I could push it was 4.96 amps, but it would shut down after 30 to 40 seconds. Even tried just 4.925, but after a couple minutes it shut down. Finally, had to drop it to 4.9 amps for it to run for the 10-minute test. The automatic test to determine power capabilities gave it a calculated 2.3A vs the claimed 5.0A. The auto test gave a rated watts of 208.45W vs the claimed 480W. The max amperage the auto test got was 2.6A and a max of 248.08W. I did much better than the auto test, but I still couldn’t pull the rated anything from this charger. I peaked out the wattage at 358W but only for about a minute. It would only pull 355W for my 10-minute test. The maximum voltage under no load is 96.59V, so it’s just short of its rated voltage (96.6V). Put a load on it and it drops dramatically. The Constant Voltage (CV) test gave the following results: 92.86V; 2.553A; 236.89W; 2,526MAH; 234.44WH The Constant Current (CC) test gave these results: 72.64V; 4.9A; 356.31W; 4,890MAH; 355.76WH The Constant Power (CP) test gave: 73.21V; 4.863A; 356W; 4,860MAH; 354.31WH So, will this charger work as it’s supposed to? It seems to do fine at the 2-amp level as that is where the auto test says it should be; however, I got a much higher amperage out of it – 4.9A. However, it never really reached 96.6 volts, so it can’t take the battery pack to its peak charge of 96.6V. It can get it really close, but can’t get it there. It can charge at almost 5A, but almost 5A means it can almost fast charge the battery pack. This is a pretty good-sized battery charger in a good sturdy plastic case, and it has a cooling fan which keeps it cool. The power cord to the charger is rather short as is the cord going to the battery pack. I like the five different adapter cables that can come in handy. One reviewer stated that the clamshell of the charger was glued or plastic-welded together. No, it is held together with four screws that have a tri-wing security design. I included a picture showing the inside of the charger. Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Well, I’m not sure I can give it a good recommendation, but if, after reading my review, you are willing to understand its shortcomings and willing to decide it’s worth it, then go for it. ... show more

I was quite pleased with the speed with which this charger charge my ebike battery. At least two and a half times faster than the two amp charger that came with the bike. It is also quite lightweight, which makes it nice to transport. A quality product which I would purchase again.
