If you're looking for an indestructible gate wheel that takes on rough ground, you've found it. This bad boy weighs half a ton, has a darn grease fitting to keep things smooth and fluid, and the wheel itself is a knobby. In a pinch, you have an emergency repair your favorite dirtbike. Holy cow, you won't be disappointed. One thing to consider; this gate wheel is heavy heavy duty compared to many others I've seen and used. I mean "heavy duty" and could be overkill for those with an even space to open your door(s). Really. I will be ordering another for my gate in the "back 40."

There is so much play between the parts that the wheel itself ends up rubbing against the gate it is attached to. The play is in two locations, both of which suggest poor build quality. First, the two surfaces that the bearings sit between have so much play that the loose bearing balls are likely to fall out sometime in the near future. Second, the fit between the vertical threaded nut and the tube it sits within is enough to cause quite a wobble. Like others here I was replacing a gate wheel that was not so great. But that one at least had way better tolerances on the fit between parts. I was able to tighten a nut to get the plates the bearings sit between to be tighter, but it still has a bit of wobble. The other section with play can not be fixed. I would not recommend this particular gate wheel and I plan on getting another one to see if it is any better.

The media could not be loaded. This thing is well built! Not sure you could break it if you tried. Has a grease zerk also. Simple to install obviously. All the parts were there and seemed to be pretty good quality. Only weird thing is, it comes with a wrench, which is a nice thought, but mine didn’t exactly fit the nut…so bring your own 17 mm wrench. I would definitely buy it again if I needed Another one.

had a wheel that was squeeking like mad no matter what i did to try and fix it. and the tire was solid plastic garbage, it made so much noise opening and closing. i dont even think it was rated for a gate, maybe a small wooden fence this solved all my headaches, and i should of gotten one sooner. this will outlast the gate itself im sure.

I've had some other gate wheels that worked, but compared to this one, they are nothing! This wheel is extremely durable, and even has a shock built into it to adjust based on the ground. The wheel itself is a thick, solid rubber (so it won't go flat) and had some beefy tread on it to handle muddy locations. The whole wheel can spin around so it adjusts to whatever angle you install it on or roll it with. The base plate makes attaching to any type of gate easy. This is not a wheel that will ever need to be replaced, and your gate will never sag with this on the end, that's for sure!

It rained last night and I was surprised that the screw/bolts showed rust this morning. Hoping that this will not be an issue with the stability and longevity of this wheel. The spring is not as dynamic as I expected. I fully expected it to rise and fall with the grade of the driveway. To make it work, we have to set it to roll on the highest point of the drive and it does not touch the rest of the way. I am disappointed.

This wheel was a great buy for our front gate, the previous wheel caused a wobble, and even though it was supposed to be heavy duty, it doesn't compare to this one. The spring in the wheel is a great addition for the ability to pull the gate without so much wobbling.
